Had a lovely fall weekend at the Chambord. It's not as close as many places are to the shops on Thames Street, but we walked down to Broadway, where there are some promising, relatively new places to eat. The breakfast is great -- the innkeepers deliver it to your bedroom on a large tray along with a carafe of coffee... more

Recently stayed one night at this B&B in Newport. Location is good since it's within walking distance of waterfront attractions. We've stayed at 20 B&Bs over the past 18 months and rate this one as average at best, especially when considering their nightly rate. We stayed at this B&B in June of 2004. While the Inn is adequate, one of the owners is anything but friendly. It was hard to get her to be civil or heplful. On the good side, her husband really cooked some terrific breakfasts. It was an ok location. There are ones that are within closer walking to town. more
