What a wonderful location, within walking distance of the Plaza and many fine restaurants within all price ranges. Lovely hotel decorated in up-scale Sante Fe style which is very soothing to the eyes and gives a sense of comfort and relaxation. Our room was a delux hotel room and had plenty of space for my husband and I. It was... more
We stayed recently at the Eldorado Hotel after an evening at the Santa Fe Opera. The remodeling is finished, and our room and the common areas were in much better condition than in the past. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. We prefer this hotel because it is close to the central plaza, has easy road access... more
Lobby area nice but rooms very average. Most staff are friendly. You are basically paying the $200-$400 dollars a night for the location, which is in walking distance to the plaza. Beware of 3rd night free promotion offered on the web site and when calling to make reservations! When I checked in they said they had no record of this... more
This hotel is overpriced for the value, but was comfortable to stay in. The accomodations were nice. The breakfast service at the restaurant was excellent; the evening service in the lounge and the dinner service at their touted restaurant (can't recall the name-- that should say something!) was lacking. This may just be our perception, but it seemed that the... more
Spent 4 nights in March/April with friends. Normally I prefer a boutique or a b&b, but my friend picked the El Dorado for the location and the fact that it had an on-site spa. We got a great rate since it was off season. For a "large" hotel, it certainly doesn't feel big or impersonal. The decor was charming -... more
A colleague booked a room for me at the Eldorado in January 2008. This was a business trip for which I was to stay one night. When I arrived, the person at the front desk told me that I would normally have to pay a penalty for not staying two nights as reserved but that they would waive that charge.... more
Eldorado was very much in the motif of old Santa Fe. The location was perfect for downtown sightseeing and great restaurants. Hotel is small enough that its easy to get around. We had a junior suite which had two bathrooms -- very nice. Others said their rooms were "dated" but we were pleased with ours. Spa was very nice and... more
Normally I would give this hotel a 3 star rating but I got such a great rate of $139/night, at that rate it is easily a four star. Not only did I get a great rate but by booking through AMEX I got a room upgrade and a $100 voucher. The room I got was pretty nice as you can... more
We enjoyed our recent stay at the Eldorado Hotel in Santa Fe. In a city of mostly small, mostly independent hotels and B&Bs (at least in the center city), the Eldorado is a large almost-corporate hotel that feels like the Santa Fe equivalent of a big chain hotel. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, however. Unlike at some big chain... more
