The Harvard Square area is good location for visiting Boston. Traffic getting into the hotel is a little hectic since roads are being fix and traffic routing around the entrance. The rooms are newly renovated, clean and well equiped with flat screen TV, nice storage space and refrigirator. The room is not noisy. The only problem I have encounter is... more

I anticipated a terrible experience based on the reviews; but the hotel was a pleasant surprise. My room was not facing the main road; it had a flat screen tv, bath and body works toiletries and the location is brilliant and much cheaper than all the hotels in the area and most of Boston. This hotel is a less expensive alternative to the Charles Hotel, just across one street. Despite reading comments about plumbing problems and noise, these were not in evidence. I always unplug the fridge in a hotel so that the room is quiet and I slept very well. The hotel provides suggested routes for jogging along the Charles. There is no... more

I stayed here while at a conference for two nights. The front desk staff were the stand out positive part -- very friendly and eager to help. The room was a problem -- a big bald spot on the carpet accompanied by outdated, beat up furnishings. I'm a city person, so the street noise did not keep me awake, but... more

Good location for Cambridge, nice people, nice rooms. Enjoyed the LCD tv, and the room was a decent size. The airconditioning broke down for a day, which is probably indicative of the building's age, however it was pretty good all up. more

This hotel was convenient to Harvard and the Harvard red line station. No breakfast, but small clean rooms with helpful staff. There was a parking fee. Internet access in the lobby (cahrge). Overall it was good value for the money. more

Stayed here in April 2007 and, around 7PM, had the sink back up with gray water when the room next door flushed the toilet. It took over 30 minutes for maintenance to come to the room and clean up. No one offered another room for me to stay. Then, at 10PM, it did it again and maintenance still had not... more

I stayed at the Harvard Square Hotel for a few days this month, and although I agree with other reviewers that the location is good, everything else is sub-par at best. The worst was the noise level -- because the rooms are situated along a dorm-like hallway, you hear every sound that anyone makes as they are walking by your... more

Booked two hotels online in April in Boston. Both times we said we needed parking. The Harvard Square Hotel Cambridge, did not email a reply and when we arrived said that parking was $35 per night. When we questioned this at check in they at first did not respond and when pressed said we should chillout and just pay! This... more

We stayed here for Marathon weekend '07 and had a decent experience. The rooms aren't great and felt more like a dorm than a hotel but the location was fantastic. This place was pricey for what you get but compared to every other place over marathon weekend, it seemed like a steal. It was just a block to walk to... more
