Right in the middle of downtown Seattle, Washington; the Hotel Max's low-key design leads you to think business, but what we're really about is ART! ART! ART! The whole place is designed as a foil for both emerging and established artists & photographers in town. Each floor takes you on a journey through a different photographer's eye. more » « less

I recently stayed at the Hotel Max for 4 nights starting 8/23/2008. I was on a trip with my best friend and we had an "Art of Two Beds" room on the 5th floor. Both of us were used to the more "traditional" hotels like Marriott and Sheraton so when we first walked in we were a little taken aback... more

I stayed at the Max in April 08 even after hearing some reviews about it being too small. In my opinion, size did not matter because the second you touched that bed you were out cold due to the comfort. There is even a pillow menu! The decor was awesome, and the restaurant downstairs was beyond expectations, including the room... more

I like this hotel, it's right near the shopping and where I need to be for work. This is my second stay here. Staff is friendly. Elevators and rooms are small, art deco. The only bummer was our room, although great view of Space needle, we could hear the pedestrian crossing buzzer every few minutes. It was a total bummer!... more

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Max in August 2008, for 2 nights. We enjoyed the very modern fittings in the bathroom , the art work on the walls and room doors, the excellent service, the carded gym facility, and the clean hallways. The service at the reception desk was helpful and friendly. The location ,a short walk to downtown... more

Hotel Max was an excellent choice for our recent three night stay in Seattle because of its central location and affordable rates. The modern/contemporary and artistic design was a draw for us, setting it apart from the traditional hotels in the immediate area. We wanted a reasonably priced hotel with character and class as an alternative to the simplicity and... more

The decor was nice, but there was not much space in the room or bathroom. Overall though, I liked the place. The staff was really polite and helpful. The location was really nice if you were in Seattle to shop. It's right in the middle of it all and only a 10 minute walk to Pikes. Even though it was... more

We stayed here two nights in Aug with some friends from London and the hotel provides to us what we wanted: very well located in the down-town area, friendly staff, and fantastic restaurant /bar in the hotel. If you are looking for a hotel with a character and closed to bar/restaurant and the tourist attraction in Seattle. This is for... more

We travel to Seattle several times a year. Generally we are viewing welcome new additions to the family. A doggish addition to OUR family prompted a new direction in hotel accomodations...the search for pet friendly hotels. The Hotel Max, a cutting edge, Euro-funk addition to the Seattle hotel roster would not have been my first choice. Our son puts his... more

This is not a contemporary or funky hotel, this is just a cheap dump. Don't be fooled by a meagre display of so called contemporary decorating. The building is very old with tiny tiny rooms and bathrooms. The rooms stunk of damp, mildew and really old wood. If there weren't new beds in the rooms, you'd think you were in the Bates... more

Dear Guest, I wanted t o take a moment to comment on your recent Trip Advisor review. While I realize full well that art, design and decor are truly unique and individual experiences I thought it only fair to share with you that ours is a very reputable and important collection of art and photography that has recieved much National...

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hotel Max for an anniversary weekend. The decor was fun and funky. Our room was spacious and comfortable, but there was a step up into the bathroom which would make it impossible for a disabled person (and dangerous in the middle of the night if you forgot it was there). We asked... more

Dear Guest, Most importantly....Happy Anniversary. Thank you for your business and for the opportunity to respond to your concerns. The Hotel Max is an Art Inspired, historic hotel with unique character. It was built almost 100 years ago and, in the name of maintaining its architectural integrity many of the interesting features - like the step up into some of...
