Briefly...Awful Too many locks to get in, terrible breakfast, weird staff, not a single bloom on the property, no chairs on the patio, fresh towels and bed made only once in a four day stay. If you stay here the rules are enforced with a military zest. more

My fiance booked this hotel as a surprise for me on my 25th birthday. I was a little surprised by the negative reviews but I guess each person has different taste. I must say we absolutely LOVED the Magnolia Mansion! It was one of the most romantic and beautiful places I had ever been. We stayed in the Moulin Rouge... more

We have just returned from a fabulous Mardi Gras holiday in New Orleans. We stayed at our favorite place in the city - the Magnolia Mansion. My husband and I have stayed there over 20 times, and we always are thoroughly pleased. We rest very well here - better than at home. The linens are especially thick and comfortable. The... more

My wife and I visited Magnolia Mansion in late March and had a great experience. The personalized service provided to each guest sets this place apart from other B & Bs. Holly knew our names and where we were from before we arrived and was always quick with a recommendation or assistance if needed. We were in the Vampire's Lair... more

This B&B is a beautiful house in a great location. That concludes the positive remarks. The rule list is exhaustive, and covered very well in another review. The breakfast consist of cold cereal and packaged sweet rolls from the 7-11. But only after 8:30. Nothing, not even coffee before then. There are no bar facilities, such as a mini bar or... more

In response to this review, first of all, we want to say thank you, we’re glad they loved the location and think Magnolia mansion is beautiful. In regard to the “rules” . . . they are not rules, but policies that are put in place to ensure that everyone’s safety and privacy are protected and to preserve the romantic environment...

I had such a romantic intimiate time with my fiance, it was a wonderful place to stay, of course the rules or do's and don'ts (policies that Hollie has in place) are pretty detailed. I was glad to know about any charges if I had an accident or wasn't aware of the rules she has, after all it is her... more

I'll start with the positive points about Magnolia Mansion and then tell you why I didn't enjoy the stay, The hotel is in such a wonderful location, right in the heart of the Garden District, only 10 minutes walk from Magazine St with it's restaurants and friendly bars and 5 or 6 minute drive from Bourbon St. We've stayed in... more

MM Response: Before I respond to each of issues this guests has remarked on, I want to introduce you to Ms Magnolia’s Do’s & Don’ts intro at the top of the Policy Page before anything else is listed: I hope you get the humor. If you are not familiar with our property, all over night guests must be 21 years...

The Magnolia Mansion is a beautiful gem of the Garden District, and the Magnolia Mansion staff takes great care in ensuring that your stay with them is simply amazing. I was married at the Magnolia Mansion last week, and Hollie and her staff made sure that every detail was perfect. She went above and beyond what one would ever expect... more

Have you ever wanted to waft down the stairs of your own mansion in New Orlean's Garden District? I get a rush every time I do that on frequent visits to Magnolia Mansion. It is my home away from home in New Orleans and I'm happy to report that it's back and beautiful after Katrina. Magnolia Mansion is gorgeous historic... more

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was one of the most memorably pleasant experiences I have ever had. Holly (the owner/proprietor) just couldn't do enough for us, the mansion is magnificent and makes you feel like you have stepped back in time a hundred years. Her rules about cigarettes and red wine are for the... more
