The room was extremely comfortable and all staff members were friendly and capable. We had absolutely no problems connected with our stay. Loved the convenience of the sreetcar across the street and the excitement of Bourbon St right outside. Breakfast at the hotel was very good plus we had a great view of the French Quarter Festival parade while we... more

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza June 28, 2008 for one night. I am in New Orleans all of the time as I live in Baton Rouge, La. This was my first stay here and I wont be back. First of all the pool area just is not nice. There is a tiny pool and jacuzzi did not work. Secondly... more

I just completed a one-week business trip to New Orleans and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Crown Plaza Astor. Located at the corner of Canal & Bourbon, the location of the hotel cannot be beaten. The lobby is nice and well kept. Dickie Brennan's seafood restaurant and hotel bar are conveniently located adjacent to the elevators. The room consists... more

I was here May 17, 2008. This remains my favorite hotel in the French Quarter. I've stayed here about 4 times. Why do I like it? 1. Comfortable -- best beds I've slept in in a hotel. I love the pillows and firm mattresses. Very attractive room and amenities. Entire property is beautiful. 2. Nice staff -- I had a... more

I've stayed in quite a few New Orleans hotels. This was my first stay in the Astor. Maybe it's the Katrina effect, but lately I'm not seeing the level of service that I've grown accustomed to in New Orleans. The Good - The hotel was okay. I've had more room and better beds, but it wasn't bad for the price... more

I just returned from a four-night stay during Jazzfest April 23-27. I felt compelled to write a review because I think this hotel deserves to be higher than #66 popularity in New Orleans. We booked it as a "mystery hotel" through Bookit.com and were a bit concerned upon reading some of the older reviews here. Perhaps they cleaned up their... more

Stayed here April 17-20th. Location is great. Right at the entrance to Bourban Street. One of my main concerns was the distance to Harrahs, as I like casinos. Distance was not far at all. Its probably a 10-15 min walk. Lots of people on the street, felt safe at all times. Hotel was nice, I was a little worried about... more

Booked this hotel on BookIt.com as a mystery hotel without knowing the hotel name. We got a great price and were delighted with the hotel when we arrived. It is on Canal Street on the edge of the French Quarter. The common areas were beautiful and well decorated. The employees were friendly and helpful. The streetcar stop was right out... more
