The Eliza Thompson House is a beautiful, classic inn with lovely accommodations, kind and helpful staff, an amazing location--and a general air of elegance sometimes difficult to find in this highly competitive tourist market. As a resident of Savannah, I recently booked a short stay for a special occasion and was amazed to find that, during my stay, I felt... more

Needed to have a relaxing and romantic weekend and found it. The Eliza Thompson House offered a spacious room and great amenities. The bell hop checked us in and gave us a great tour, including the history of the Inn. Wonderful breakfast with everything fresh and the coffee was great! The staff made us feel as though we had been... more

All I can say is: I should have read the reviews. This place is not what they make it sound to be. The inn looks fantastic on the website - trust me: it is NOT! Not only is it worn and faded it is also not very well kept. Dirt on the floors everywhere. Go somewhere else. more

I am not sure where to start. How about the dusty fake flower arrangements in the hallways? Or the front desk agent who was pleasant but not very informed (not to mention the more than casual dress code - crinkled shirt not tugged it). Our room was in the Carriage House (be aware: not more special than a 2 star... more

While the B&B may be touted as a luxury establishment, it left many things to be desired. My husband and I spent one wonderful week in Savannah for our Honeymoon. We decided to stay here one night- and I'm glad it was only that. We were greeted by a very courteous front desk attendant, and our bellman was incredibly helpful.... more

This was not a good B&B. Tiny rooms, tiny bathrooms, tiny plates, ordinary food shoveled out in haste by distracted employees. Way overpriced! Budget motel service and amenities at an upscale price. more

We just spent our third stay at the Eliza Thompson House. And as usual, it was a great experience. We found the B & B staff to be very friendly and helpful, especially Kevin. He really goes out of the way to help. Our room was cozy and well kept. It was cleaned early in the day. The location of... more

Great location. Lovely old historic house. Bed was comfortable. Owned by a large corp and had no warmth, no attention to detail, impolite staff. Staff did not have any "concierge" type of knowledge of the area. Breakfast mediocre at best. Evening cake was not on time and was served with about 1/3 of a cake on the plate, like it... more

I had always dreamed of staying in one of the old Victorian mansions in the south and got my wish with the Eliza Thompson House. I found the staff cordial and friendly. It was quite businesslike unfortunately and not as much of the 'Old South' down home friendly feeling that I had been looking for. The location was wonderful, but... more
