Stayed at the downtown Marriott for two days during a layover between a meeting in Boston and a wedding the following weekend. I stayed by myself so my review may be biased due to this fact. Pros: 1. Location: Centrally located in downtown Philly. Easy walking distance to historic City Hall, Macy's, Philly's main shopping district and across the street... more

I had to be in town for a convention and everyone was hoping to get the Marriot because it is attached to the convention center. I was one of the 'lucky' few. Hotel itself was great, very comfortable beds, great hotel staff, amazing location. My only real issue is that I'm pretty sure I had a ghost in my room.... more

I have stayed here twice and am I big fan. First of all, I love that you can take the subway from the airport to the hotel. I believe it was $7. The hotel is huge, near a bunch of cool stuff and there's a Starbucks (a real one) in the lobby. As I mentioned, you can take the subway... more

we are silver elite members of Marriott so we stay in Marriotts often- however this stay was horrible. the renovations in the hotel were more extensive than I was lead to believe-The upstairs bar had terrible service on Saturday night-esp after I saw a waitress sip a cosmo and then proceeded to serve it to a patron!!!! On day one... more

I attended a conference here with some college students. My students were lucky enough to get upgraded to the deluxe tower, while I was stuck in the regular hotel! The positives--nice room, good housekeeping, Starbuck's in the lobby, easy access to Reading Terminal Market and Philadelphia Convention Center. The location is amazing. Negative part one--one evening at about 10:30 p.m.... more

Stayed here for a business conference. Overal I would say its a good place to stay. As usual to any hotel they messed up my feather free room despite the prearrangements that were made. I found this to be average service however given 99% of hotels dont actually take care of this until I arrive and complain. The good thing... more

Because my company has some sort of agreement with Marriott I always have to stay at one when we have "an off-site event". Those happen several times a year, and generally I can weasel out of them. Not this time. Marriott would never be my destination of choice. (In my experience, there is no added value to a down comforter... more

My friend and I decided to attend the 2008 Philidelphia Flower Show which commenced today, March 2 at the Philidelphia Convention Center. I booked my stay with Priceline and hoped for the best. Contrary to some other reviews, I did not take issue with the renovations in the lobby. Actually, the renovations are being tastefully done and the lobby in... more

My BF and I wanted a quick getaway (we live in DE) for the Valentines weekend. Judging by the size of the hotel and the fact that it is attached to the PA Convention Center, we kind of figured it would be crowded and a little congested. After we checked in, we were told that our room was in the... more
