For what you pay for--and $269 a night in midtown/Broadway is, relatively speaking, VERY cheap--you get a nice clean room and a comfortable bed which, for my visit to the City, was all I needed. Yes, I had a couple of TV channels that didn't come in, but I wasn't in New York to stay in my room and watch... more

I was at the Ameritania with 2 of my friends for 2 of us it was our third time to N-Y the check in was really fast and when we got into the room it was small and smelly but not so bad...It got worst at night , I was on my bed when I saw a cockroach on the... more

Okay, I'm crazy. It is a dark hotel. The staff is quite helpful, they know me and deliver the room and floor I ask for. Is the lobby edgy and hip or just cold and somewhat spooky? I'm probably too old for this place but the location is just UNBELIEVABLE! I'm near Broadway, Carnegie deli, great restaurants. Letterman is just... more

I was very unsatisfied with my stay at the Hotel Ameritania. Half the stations on my TV wouldn't come through, and the sound kept going in and out. My toilet had a crack on the back and there was a huge hairball in the tub stuck on the drain. Ewww. A weird, high-pitched hissing noise kept coming out of the... more

If the Ameritania were anywhere but Manhattan I’d be outraged. For $269.44 - an online bargain price, by the way - you don’t get much in NYC nowadays, and this joint is living proof of that. Not that it was miserable, or dingy, or tremendously unpleasant...it’s just that in terms of decor, hospitality, and amenities, the Ameritania has all the... more

This hotel is in a great location. Its a 5minute walk from times square and the broadway area. Straight across the road (a quiet road) from the hotel there is a 24hour deli. The hotel itself is in a quiet area while still being very close to the busier areas. The reception area is quite large and open with a... more

The hotel is in a great location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are small, but very clean. Beds are clean and very comfortable. Parking is very close and affordable. I paid around $200 for one night stay. A very good value for the money. Location and price really can't be beat. more

I researched this website incessantly for reviews before travelling to this hotel, and was pleasantly surprised with it. I don't understand why people moan about the bad quality/old decor, this isn't a 5* hotel, it is above basic for a reasonable price! Every hotel in NYC is really expensive, but this hotel I would definetly go back to, the location... more

I chose this hotel because I couldn't see that I was getting much more from other hotels even though they were more expensive and I must say that I made the right decision. It was well worth the little I paid! The location is spot on - you can't get much better! Close to Times Square, all the main shopping... more

After reading other reviews I thought we had made a terrible mistake - however we were pleasantly surprised by the accommadation. The room was quite large - two double beds, plenty of floor space for 3 suitcases and paraphenalia required by three adults. Walk in wardrobe/cupboard. Bathroom adequate - all clean with fresh sheets/towels every day. Once we worked out... more
