Last month I stayed in the Edison Hotel and was a bit affraid after reading all the terrible reviews here. Well, as everything was arranged allready we headed our way. The hotel is busy, very busy at moments. Just like the location of the hotel. The car, yes we actually drove there, was taken away by a very friendly member... more

The room wasn't safe, the window was sealed off with tape with the writing "don't touch". The noise from the street was enormous, it looked the windows were open. After complainig by the hotelmanager "Mr. Ryan " who wasn't friendly and helpfull at all, give us twice an other room, the first room wasn't cleaned up and sink of smoke.... more

The only plus point of staying in this hotel is the location as it is right in the heart of Times Squareand price, only in NYC is $200+tax a night a deal. Otherwise, this hotel is very very very basic with poor service. The last time I was there, one of my bags went missing and concierge staff didn't seem... more

We stayed at the Edison for 5 days from 15th Sept 08. We had booked 2 rooms, a twin and a double for our party of 4, and had requested they be as close together as possible. We got 1 on 5th floor and 1 on 9th. On arrival one room was ready and one wasnt but we were arriving... more

I was really worried about staying at the Edison after all the terrible reviews, but I was pleasantly suprised! Yes, the hotel is old, the rooms are small and dated and there are no extras in the rooms - but its not meant to be a luxury hotel! The location is awesome - about 15metres from the times square and... more

My last visit to The Edison was in Dec - Jan of 07-08. I always travel right after Christmas through New Years. My visits are always enjoyable and the rooms are always very suitable. I began staying at The Edison in 1985, escorting High School student Theatre Trips. I now am a school principal and travel alone and frequently. The... more

This hotel is OLD OLD, outdated rooms, furniture is like from the 1950's, electrical cords stapled around the room for power, TINY bathroom, limited space, disgusting bed with yellow sheets and pillow cases. Hallway walls look better in a toddlers room from paint chips, wall holes and rude staff. NEVER stay here again! more

On arrival at this hotel the receptionist who didn't seem to care less told us our room was not available. Considering we booked the room in November 2007 I was rather shocked, however on production of our hotel voucher a room was "found". The room was just like the photographs in other reports, small and dingy although we were not... more
