The hotel was booked via the BBs own website. We had problems deciding what dates and rooms to stay in so we in communication with Jeremy over email. Finally a hotel room was decided (can't remember which one- but it had a Jacuzzi). We arrived in the morning after a long night flight called Jeremy as he requested that we... more

This was my 3rd trip to New York, on the previous trips we have stayed in Manhattan but now we have got the hang of using the subways we decided to stay further out and save on hotel costs. This is a great little B&B in Harlem and very close to the subway (take the A express and you are... more

I live in Oklahoma and my friend who is from California met me in NYC to attend our first Yankee game. After looking for weeks for rooms , The Sugarhill Inn in Harlem popped up so I called and talked to the property owner Jeremy who was great. (We were skeptical about Harlem 1st time visitors) We spoke on the... more

Arrived late Wednesday 22:00 and collected front door key as arranged, however room key had not been left in room as arranged so had to call owner to sort out, for which I got throughly over charged by Vodafone (not Sugar Hill's fault obviously). Room very attractive BUT food left in fridge from previous occupants AND cold take out coffee... more

The rooms were very nice - sylishly decorated and themed in keeping with the Harlem location .That said on one day of our stay the room wasn't cleaned save for the bins being emptied. The air contioning was effective but very noisy. There was no external noise to speak of and we slept well. The subway was fairly nearby but it took... more

Our first trip to New York was a fabulous experience, due in no small part to our wonderful lodgings at Sugar Hill Harlem Inn. Sugar Hill is a neighbourhood full of architectural wonders in housing (to our Western Canadian eyes anyway!). Because the Inn is housed in 2 brownstones, the rooms are spacious (yes, spacious, in New York City!), charming,... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Sugar Hill Harlem Inn in late June for 2 nights as an alternative to the high hotel prices in Manhattan. Our room was Marian’s Room in the annex building. It is on the second floor and very quiet. The room itself has the basic furnishings: king-sized bed, desk, 2 nightstands, sofa, and chairs.... more

Sugar Hill Harlem Inn is a fantastic place to stay. Our room (Miles room) was excellent and the breakfast was delicious. And please, don't worry about "Harlem": it's absolutely safe! We really, really enjoyed it! more

The inn is a really nice b&b in a still often overseen neighbourhood of NYC. Harlem, and especially the part where the inn is located, is safe and worth walking around. By subway (5 minute walk) midtown is a 20 minute ride. The inn is beautifully decorated and the service is above average. The innkeeper Jeremy is really friendly and... more
