A nice fancy location, in the middle of the mess of the Village. The hotel is old, no elevator (a problem with luggages if you are in the upper floors), not so much clean, but not so much expensive. Nice for one night in the City. The area is really "strange" full of drunk people, some drugs, but if you... more

I really wanted to like this hotel! It's located in a great area of New York (close to where my sister used to live, so I might be a little biased)...every other step is an interesting restaurant or bar, there's so much life, off the beaten path for tourists, etc. BUT... this hotel is extremely basic, even by NY standards.... more

My friends and I stayed at St. Marks hotel during the last weekend in August and encountered no problems at all with the hotel. The location was excellent as it was very close to the subway station (Astor Place) about a 2mins walk and is a short subway ride from all you need to see in the city. The hotel... more

Literally!! Even though this was the cheapest hotel in NYC, it was NOT a bargain. The saying, "you get what you pay for" rings so true with this hotel! First, they only accept cash, and you have to pay upfront. Second, all of the amenities that they list on their website is not actually provided in all the rooms. My... more

We arrived in NYC Sat morning (7am) after an overnight bus trip from Toronto and wanted to stay in NYC to catch the show, Spring Awakening before travelling back to DC. We had tried looking for a hotel on priceline for weeks before, but weren't successful in getting a 3* or 4* hotel. This is probably because of the peak... more

Partner and I stayed at St. Mark's one Saturday night in August. We chose it for its affordability and location in the East Village. We were given a room at the very top (there are four rooms up there, 1P-4P) because I requested a quiet room not facing the street. What we got as a consequence was a room that... more

I recently stayed 5 nights at the St Mark's Hotel with my boyfriend. I was a little anxious booking a hotel overseas through email alone, but I needn't have worried. We got the metro from the airport to the hotel (saved so much money!) and the best thing about the hotel is that it is so close to the metro... more

This was my second visit to New York, but the first time I would be staying in Manhatten. I found this hotel through an internet search engine a few weeks before, and through good email correspondance was able to book a room for my friend and myself. The hotel was good for the price, the location is excellent, although can... more

My best friend and I recently stayed at the St. Mark's hotel. Basically I decided to stay there based on location, price, and positive reviews. The location is great. It is a block from one subway station and two blocks to another station. The street it's on is full of restaurants, bars, and shops. Right below the hotel is a... more
