We visited the Ivy last night with a group of colleagues from a Fashion networking group in San Diego. Most people had been once before, yet for me this was the first time. From the outside it's understated and elegant. However, once you walk in the lounge you feel like Alice who went down the rabbit hole, but a seriously... more

I stayed at the Ivy during a recent business trip to San Diego. I was bery excited about the hotel prior to arriving. I had heard good things about it in travel magazines and shows. I must say was sorely dissapointed with my stay. When I arrived (early at 2pm) my room was not ready. Knowing I had arrived prior... more

Noisy, pretentious and overrated! We stayed in a suite on the 6th floor right under the club. VERY LOUD until 2am. The suite was very small but decorated well. The front desk person kept telling us how "exclusive" the place is. Our feeling is that if you have to tell your guests how exclusive the place is, maybe it ISN"T.? more

I stayed at the Ivy hotel for three nights over a weekend in a premium guestroom and I actually don't quite know whether I love or hate the place. The hotel has a very trendy atmosphere and the design is beautiful. The room amazed me at first sight until the moment I realised that there was almost no storage space... more

This was the best hotel during our road trip in California this august. Very good concierge service, lovely room with a lot of style, perfect location for going out and shopping in San Diego. We would recommend this hotel to everybody ! more

Stayed for 2 nights mid-week in August 08 on the tail end of 2 weeks in the US. Got a great deal on the room via Expedia for the Premium King room a fortnight out. The hotel is very stylish and modern with a nod to decadence. Some of the pillars are wrapped in leather and the bath in our... more

This is an incredible hotel! The Ivy Hotel is such a rare treat: smart design with exquisite style. The entire place is gorgeous and the rooms are divine. Yes, this hotel caters to a younger, richer crowd. And if you watch their promotional video which loops on their own in-room channel, the word pretentious comes to mind. The young staff... more

We got a grand corner king room - beautiful large room and view. It was recommended to us as a more quiet alternative due to the hotel club and surroundings around week-ends and it was OK eventhough we still could hear the clubs. The staff is young but polite. The only notewordy problems were that we never got anything the... more

When we checked into the hotel it seemed like it was going to be great choice. I think the best way to sum up our stay was that the hotel and staff were ranked at the top of my list but after 8 pm guests are treated like second class. If you have any guests visiting you in your hotel... more

Beautiful hotel with great rooms, but poor service (eg conceirge who doesn't couldn't help with posting an envelope), and frat-boy guests (shouting in the corridors at 4am, one guest wandering the hallways totally naked because his "friends" locked him out). Some nice service from the valet attendants, but otherwise service wasn't up to the $400/room pricing. Overall, a disappointing experience... more
