A friend and I stayed at the Taylor House for several days and enjoyed being so close to restaurants and safe walking areas. We loved the old house and all the restorations that have been accomplished. I would suggest some additions to the front entry to make it more welcoming, as well as adding reading lamps in the front parlor.... more

When I booked our stay Dave "applogized" that we would not be able to stay in the main house but in the Park Suite next to it. Some compromise! We had a large bedroom, an office that had a refrigerator , coffeemaker, microwave, a large closet.A large bathroom with an enormous tub with skylights on either side! All the details... more

This was our first stay in Boston and we stayed at the Taylor house B&B for 4 nights. It is a large house in a nice quiet area. We arrived early (Midday) as we were early the room was not ready but Andrew let us put our cases in the room whilst he prepared it. Our room was large and... more

We stay at Taylor House at least once a year when visiting Boston from the UK and have never been less than delighted with our stays, always looking forward to arriving and settling straight in. The house has been beautifully and lovingly restored, with tasteful choices in furnishings and colour schemes which hint at the house's history while at the... more

This B&B is in a great location, especially if you are visiting friends or family in Jamica Plain. On a quiet street, near The Pond and restaurants/shopping. A large house with great possibility, it is being neglected. Other than structural changes, the only attempt at "decorating" is faux painting everywhere that is not especially attractive and is literally falling off... more

Stayed here for two nights in July and enjoyed it very much. Our room was large and comfortable (the bed, especially, was terrific). I've seen other reviews about the cleanliness; I did notice dust in the common areas, but our room was spotless and the bathroom was squeaky clean. I wish I'd had time to take a bath in the... more

We stayed for two nights, 5 days apart, in two different rooms. Both rooms were nicely appointed, especially the Taylor Room. When we arrived, Dave checked us in but did not offer to help us with our luggage on either of our visits. That surprised me as we were quite tired from traveling and we are not youngsters. After a... more

Stayed at This Bed and Breaksfast for 2 nights. It did not have the comfortable ambience of usual B & B's. You were renting a room and that was it. Miminmal interaction with the hosts. To us they rented out a room and it was not what we expected of a B and B. Unfortunately they double booked our room.... more

Management response from

What they failed to mention was that we bent over backwards to find them their last night in an excellent location at another Bed and Breakfast, paid the difference in room rate, and drove them there personally to make sure they were happy with the accommodation. At the time, they seemed very happy and pleased with our efforts. We were...

We just spent a few days at Taylor House in Boston last weekend and we attended the Yankees/Sox game. We loved Taylor House. A few things we really enjoyed: 1 - It is not in downtown Boston. It is in a very quaint area and the houses surrounding it are very pretty and old fashioned. 2 - It is a... more

We stayed at Taylor House whilst spending a few days sightseeing in Boston. It is in a great location, Jamaica Plain, which is a little out of the centre of Boston but is on the T (metro train, a mere 10 minute stroll). The house is beautifully renovated, the room we had was lovely and spacious. The breakfast buffet each... more
