What a wonderful place. Great price, close to public transport, many great restaurants nearby, neighbourhood felt very safe. Fantastic sitting room for newspapers, coffee and fruit (available 24h), and muffins/pastries, coffee, fruit, juices in the morning. WiFi, too. Wish we could have stayed longer, and will return next time in Boston. more

The best part about this place is the location. It's right off the T line, close to Beacon Hill and the riverfront recreational area. The hotel is historic (served as a TB hospital in the early 20th century if I remember correctly) and has some character to it but the decor is sort of a neutral hotel motif. The price... more

We just got back from 4 nights - what a great and inexpense place to stay in Boston. It has all the amenities of an intimate B&B - breakfast provided (Croissants, muffins, scones, breads, juice coffee, teas, hot chocolate) in a lovely room with books, magazines and the morning paper to read while sipping coffee, coffee, tea, etc offered all... more

My spouse and I stayed here before I went into Mass General for surgery. The property is in a great location, in a nice neighborhood, near transportation, parking, food, and very close to the hospital. It was a 5 minute walk to the hospital, so I could get there easily to be admitted, and my spouse could go back and... more

I just got back from a long weekend at the John Jeffries House; location is excellent, right across from the Charles Street station, very convenient. I checked in Friday afternoon, very quickly with no problems what so ever, strait to my room on the ground floor (004) which was very spacious and clean. Bathroom is very large (see photos) with... more

I booked this hotel after reading many positive reviews on Tripadvisor. Upon arrival I was properly greeted and checked in quickly. I went out for a walk to check out the city and noticed that the hotel had a good location to all the historical sites, shopping and restaurants. After a nice meal in a nearby restaurant I came back... more

I booked a single room with ensuite bathroom and kitchenette. IT was very good, great location- near a T and local shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helplful. The breakfast is average- a bit of cereal wouldn't go a miss. I would gladly stay there again. more

I stayed at this hotel while attending a conference at MIT. It was one stop away from my conference and within walking distance of nice shops and restaurants. It's in a beautifully restored Victorian building (a former nurses' residence) located across the street from a T (rapid transit) stop. For the price, it was an unbelievable deal. The rooms were... more

We booked one of the larger suites for three nights and enjoyed our stay - we would gladly stay their again and would recommend it to others. The Charles River location is superb! Right off the the Red Line (Charles/MGH) it very convenient to both Boston and Cambridge including South Station and Logan Airport. The two-room suite was very clean,... more

The John Jeffries is nice low key inn-type hotel tucked into a corner of Charles Street. Very convenient by the "T" it is also a great location if you have time to spare. Charles Street is a charming way to walk, filled with antique stores. Around the corner is a wonderful place for breakfast or just coffee, Panaficio. At the... more
