Hotel Adagio features a fresh design that bridges its Spanish Colonial Revival architectural roots to a clean and contemporary design aesthetic. In the heart of San Francisco's theater, dining and shopping districts, the Adagio is the perfect destination for exploring whether you're visiting on business or pleasure. Uniquely San Franciscan and clearly Californian, the new Hotel Adagio offers a pace and atmosphere that is luxuriant and aromatic. more » « less

My wife and I stayed at the Adagio because of the price and the good reviews. It was a clean place and the staff was friendly but our room did not have working internet. My wife needed the internet to conduct business while we were away. It was supposed to be included free in our room. I told the staff... more

Badly hung drapes and 90's trance music can't transform a tired old building on the edge of the tenderloin into more than a try hard inn. Ugly floor standing air conditioners sit beside the old models that still adorn the windows. Unless you have a reason to be in this neighborhood, try somewhere else. more

Our first stay in San Francisco, and I must say I was a bit apprehensive at first, as no one had heard of the hotel we were staying at... however I would describe it as a hiddern Gem! the standard was exeptional, especially considering it was only a 3*, it seemed like a 5* or at least a 4*. I... more

Although I live just a couple hours away in Sacramento, I visit San Francisco often for a variety of reasons. I have stayed in a number of hotels in the Union Square area. I stumbled upon the Hotel Adagio, a boutique hotel, through an email advertisement. It was a very pleasant experience. My room looked just like the picture on... more

My husband and I spent one night at the Adagio last weekend. I had read reviews saying the hotel is not in the best neighborhood so I was litttle bit nervous. But when we arrived it was wonderful! The front desk was unbelievable professional and extremely friendly. Although we arrived a bit too early for check in, our luggage was... more

For sure, it is the best way to describe Hotel Adagio. I have stayed there for one week and it was all perfect: the check-in, the attention of staff, the advices, the apples in the hall, the comfortable room and the location. I could do every thing on foot since the hotel is two blocks away fron the Union Square.... more

We have just spent 3 nights in the Adagio, and I must say that the experience was unforgetable. The location was very central -- 200yds. from Union Sq. on Geary St. There are several restaurants and bars within 100yds. of the hotel. We were also in the centre of the theatre area. The staff were most welcoming. We had a... more

We stayed three nights in late April 2008. The hotel is a bright spot in a not-so-nice area of SF (I believe the tour guide referred to the area as 'The Tenderloin'.) The hotel was inviting and attractive though. The decor is modern. We were able to check in a couple of hours early and the woman at the check... more

We got an excellent deal at the Adagio through Travelzoo. I booked a Deluxe Junior Suite and was pleasantly surprised by the size. The decor is hip and minimalist with fresh retro elements. The bathroom is nice, but the space for our makeup, shaving stuff etc was pretty cramped around the sink. I thought the shower tiling could use an... more
