We've been staying at the White Swan 2-4 times per year for the past two years, since our former favorite JDV hotel in our daughter's SF neighborhood, the Lambourne, closed. We stayed in room 43 for just over $200 per night. The room is spacious, clean and quiet. It even sports a gas-operated open fireplace. The hotel feels a lot like an English B&B: cosy, warm, personable and great breakfast. Definitely recommended, although you may find that a room in sister hotel Carlton for half the price does the job... more

I stayed there for a week in April. The White Swan is very well situated for getting aorund San Francisco and has some excellent restaurants in the close vicinity.
