My husband and I went to Marriott in Kona for our honeymoon last sept. The hotel underwent huge renovation. It looked great. Room: Then new rooms were very chic and modern. We loved so much , we incorporated the design into our bedroom at home. The rooms were very clean and had a large bathroom. The room size is fairly... more

My wife and I stayed at Marriott for 8 nights. Overall, we had a great time and would stay here again. The hotel has recently been renovated, and you could tell. Everything appeared to be clean and seemed "newer." I'll try to break my review down into different categories. Hotel: Recently rennovated, well kept and clean. There was always someone... more

This 5 day visit was our second stay at this Marriott. I was excited to see what the $50k renovation would look like. The first glimpse of the hotel when you drive up is boring....no beautiful flowers; kind of bland. The lobby is decorated in the 'new' minimalistic, contemporary look that many hotels seem to be following these days. No... more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for the last 3 nights of our honeymoon. One reviewer hit the nail on the head by describing the Kona airport as a bunch of huts. Strangest airport I'd ever seen. Anyway, the drive from the airport to the resort is kind of interesting. There is pretty much NOTHING between the airport... more

We spent an amazing week in the big island in mid-August. I will focus our review on big island activities since there the hotel has been covered in detail by other reviewers. Hotel Basics: Staff: Extremely friendly and accomodating. Not top-notch professionalism, but we didn't pay Four Seasons prices either. Facilities: Pool is very relaxing and beautiful. Not a lot... more

This was our first trip to Hawaii. We booked in at the Marriott Waikaloa after searching through several hotel listings. We decided on this one primarily because it appeared to have one of the nicest beaches on the island. We weren't disappointed! The hotel sits on Anaeho'omalu Bay which has a wonderful large curved beach and a reef not too... more

I think I am the ONLY business person to stay at this property, unless its part of a convention. I was there during the renovations (2006/2007) and everything was still superb.... my rooms (both times) were facing the courtyard/ocean, beds were VERY comfortable, staff was always willing & eager to assist. The grounds were phenominal, even though they had a... more

This was a great hotel for our first trip to the big island... We ended up booking a cabana room, which is located in a smaller building closer to the ocean, but for the price you pay to stay in this building, its NOT worth it. If we ever went back, we would stay in a regular room in the... more

We stayed at the Marriott Waikoloa for the 2nd half of our honeymoon. It is a solid choice. The hotel is located on the Kohala coast within walking distance of luxury shopping and several good restaurants (Roy's is a must try!). The hotel is about 30-40 minutes north of Kona airport. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and parking was a... more

We stayed 14 nights in August 2008 in this hotel and we enjoyed very much the excellent location of this hotel. The beach is very nice, you will see turtles and manta rays when snorkeling not far from the shore line. Service at the hotel is good and hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room, it was a... more
