We stayed at the Viking for one night in August. It is across the street from the beach, but in a fairly good location - close to everything (boardwalk, restaurants, shops, etc.) The hotel is old, and it shows - furnishings are old, building looks old. But, I found the room clean and the staff friendly. The only bad thing... more

Attended cheer convention laeving no hotel availability except for the Viking. Rated as a (1) star hotel I was leary..and for good cause. Pillow cases and sheet were stained. Fortunately I had enough forthought to bring my own! Attempts made to moderize bathroom...should have started with replacing the shower and toilet. Thank goodness for clorox wipes and flip flop! Hair... more

they were rude when we checked in and really strict about visitors or what not, then when people downstairs from us came up to our room they kicked US out at 5 in the morning for noise and such, NOT a great place to stay if your younger. Also there were blood stains on our floor which was pretty gross. more

Yes, it is old. Yes, it sounds funny when you flush the toilet. BUT, it across the street from the beach. It was quiet to us. But, we were only in the room to sleep. The pool was small but sufficient. The air conditioning worked great. You do have to ask for more towels, but you get them. I would... more

My boyfriend and I stayed there with our daughter who is almost 2. The room wasn't very clean. Anything that was metal was pure rust. Looked like they just wiped down the basic stuff but didn't clean in cracks and crevices. We stayed there for 4 days and still couldn't figure out the toilet. You tried to flush it and... more

After reading the reviews, we decided to book this hotel as the majority of the reviews remarked on the cleanliness of the hotel and the friendly staff. We stayed in the two bedroom efficiency with a complete kitchen. Our room was on the second floor and we were even able to see the ocean from our room. The hotel staff... more

I stayed there with a few friends and we had a LOT of fun! It wasn't a five-star hotel, but for a group of young, single college students it was great. We really enjoyed the fact that there was a kitchenette and we were able to cook our meals instead of buying them all which would have been super-expensive!! Could... more

We stayed at the Viking the week after the 4th of July. The hotel looks a little old on the outside, but was surprised to find that the inside appears to have been rentavated recentally and looks very nice. We rented the 2 bedroom suite. It was very nice and spacious with a full size frig. and nice size kitchen... more

We found this hotel on TripAdvisor, read the reviews and tried it. Upon arrival they were very accomodating and courteous. When we booked they had only smoking rooms left, but due to cancellations we were able to change to nonsmoking when we got there. Many upgrades and renovations are already in place, but some of the rooms still need work.... more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend at the beach, in 2005. This place is okay if you are on a serious budget and not if you are use to higher class places or traveling with your family. It was kinda muggy and drab in the room but clean. 7 Eleven was right out back which came... more
