We just returned from our weekend trip of "do we want to move here hunting" from Virginia Beach. Our first night was at a Doubletree & was set-up blind online w/ not much planning. My past experience at their hotel in Charlotte, NC was wonderful, so we thought that this would be a great place to stay. Unfortunately, our expectations... more

We had the same type of positive experience as the previous reviewer from D.C. We booked during the Neptune Festival (we didn't realize this because we booked for other reasons) and chose the hotel based on brand and price, and relative proximity (about 2 miles) to the beach. This hotel is more than adequate -- first room assignment had smoke... more

Despite all the negative reviews, our experience was very pleasant. The hotel staff was courteous and the room was very clean and comfortable. We booked at the last minute during the Neptune Festival, so we couldn't get as close to the beach as we wanted, however the hotel is easily within walking distance. The hotel has easy access to I-264,... more

Like many of the other reviewers, I stayed here for a conference that I was attending at the convention center and the conference had special group rates. The special group rate was higher than some of the better hotels on the beach (this was in september). Mold all over the bathroom walls. There was even mold on the outside wall... more

Stayed one night at the Doubletree Virginia Beach 9/14-9/15. As a Diamond Level HH member, I stay in lots of Doubletree's every year and this one is one of the dumpier one's I have stayed at. The hotel room floors are dark. I had a room on the 11th floor and it had a very moldy smell to it. The... more

Uninterested front desk, no cookies at check-in or check out. Room was ok except for very loud a/c unit, bathroom was terrible: mildew on tiles, glazing stripped off of bottom of tub. Although this wasn't the hotel's fault, guests from a large wedding were in the hall until 4am making lots of noise. This would have been ok for $80... more

My family and I stayed here 8/10-8/13 and it was great!!! We arrived at 6am after driving all night... The staff accomodated us immediately! THANK GOD! =) We had our puppy with us and feared we would get a "pet room," but that didn't happen at all... Our room was very clean and did not smell!!! We were given extra... more

Let me start by stating that my husband and I are Hilton Grand Vacation mnembers and have been frequent visitors to Va Beach for the past 10 years. Normally we stay on the beach but chose to stay at this property with our 3 children ages 10,12 and 13. What a mistake! We were in rooms 933 and 935 -... more

This is a decent hotel. It is not close to the beach, just so you understand. I was a little upset that the beach shuttle stopped running early one night just because the driver had to leave work early. The rooms are nice and worth the price we paid ($103 all inclusive). There's TONS of free parking and you can... more

Stayed at the Doubletree for three nights during the week of July 9th. Room was clean but not spacious, no internet access and no fridge in room. A/C very loud to the point where it interupted sleep. Housekeeping is a crap shoot, they do the minimum and arrive very late in the day, after 4 PM. The guy selling the... more
