This hotel was top-notch, in my opinion. Plenty of parking. The front lobby was under construction, upon entering, but the smaller front desk was easy to find. The front-desk lady had our reservation already waiting for us, absolutey no waiting. The room was very spacious and had lots of amenities, microwave, fridge, etc.. Plenty of towels and washclothes. Pillows and... more

We booked on priceline as 3 star. It was not even a 1 star and felt unsafe. Got in late, there were men standing outside that stared us up and down, who were smoking and from beer cans saw inside later, probably drinking. We think people used as hang out for bus stop. Not a good start. No real lobby... more

We stayed three nights, July 3,4,5,2008 and positives: the room was spacious, we had a King bed, check in and out service was quick, excellent maid, great location near downtown and close to local tourist attractions, safe location,we were able to see the fireworks from our room, sliding glass door windows, the indoor pool, exercise room, soda machines, coin laundry were... more

Stayed here for a night while visiting Charlottesville/Jamestown. Didn't spend much time in the room except for showering and sleeping. Good internet access and convenient location! more

This semed to be an older property. There were a few steps leading up to the lobby.....luggage wheels won't be much help to you there. Our room on the top floor was clean, updated and more than adequate. No problems with our room itself, but the walls separating us from other rooms were thin. Sound traveled easily from one room... more

Okay, now this hotel is quite interesting. Rooms are okay, make sure to get a room that faces the back unless you want to hear sirens from 29 and traffic. The hotel restaurant is deplorable "First Place Grille" is more like Last Place Grille". The hotel staff are acceptable but nothing to write home about. If you have rooms on... more

My wife and I stayed in the Holiday Inn in Charlottesville, VA during a visit to see our son at UVA. The rooms are nicely appointed however they are not sound-proof. The first night we noticed that we could hear the TV, radio, and regular speech/talking of our next store neighbors. On the second night we were awakened at 1:00... more

This is the second time I stayed at this hotel within 2 months. Staff was friendly, the room was very clean, and since our rooms faced the back of the hotel they were also quiet - I agree the AC is a bit noisy, but it's constant, so it does the job. Free coffee and newspapers are nice on the... more

Always clean and staff is always helpful, plenty of parking which is a must in charlottesville, hotels near hospital tend to run out of parking. We have stayed here 3 times while my daughter has had surgery, it has been quiet, very clean, comfy beds, and very nice staff. more

We paid $89 plus about $10 tax per night for Friday and Saturday nights in mid-August 2007. Our top floor room was large and clean. The air conditioning was noisy, but it did the job. The hallway was hot, however. We never even looked into the dining room. The small front desk staff helped us out with free transportation in... more
