We booked a room over the phone. We got there and the owner guy made us fill everything out while gabbing away on his cell phone in another language, never greeting us. Took our key and walked through the door. Our "non-smoking" room smelled worse than most casinos; filled with smoke. Not to mention the cigarette burns in the comforter,... more

I hate to give the motel a bad review, but my stay just wasn't that great. The place was packed anyway, so I guess they don't have an urgent reason to improve. First, the property is ok. It's located on the main drag on the eastern side of town, but not very close to most other motels or restaurants or... more

We went rafting with one of the big outfits that do the Green River and needed someplace to stay in Vernal. Split Mountain has so-so rooms, no pool or restaurant or much hospitality. The rates were too much by 10% for what we got. If we did it again we'd choose the Rodeway Inn, no frills but a little nicer. more
