I was in Dallas on business in September and didn't want to stay in one of the big box hotels. I also chose Hotel Lumen due to it's close proximity to a friend's house. This hotel lived up to what I expect of a Kimpton property, smartly decorated, clean rooms and an attentive staff. My room was gigantic! I think... more

My wife and I stayed in the Lumen in August and again in September, 2007, for a total of 6 nights. We had a two-room suite both stays. The room decor and hotel decor are modern, and we found it attractive. The rooms were very clean. Valet parking is mandatory, and is $10 in addition to the room charge. But... more

My fiance and I spent the weekend here - what a great stay! We currently live in different states, so pick a place for a long weekend every couple of months. This was a great getaway location for us. There were lots of things to do nearby and the hotel staff was knowledgeable about local area dining and attractions. The... more

This is was the first time we had stayed at a Kimpton hotel and we will def. go back! The hotel was very modern and stylish. We stayed in their Double Premier Room with 2 Double Beds. The room was only 310 sq feet but felt roomy for four adults. The beds had pillow top mattresses and were VERY comfortable.... more

At first glance, you wouldn't think my 78 year old mother would like Lumen....it's modern and, for Texas, edgy. But they accept pets, and for FREE! The bed was so divine that I'm getting one for Christmas. The staff is trained to be extra accomodating and pleasant. The only thing we missed was a coffee pot in the room. Oh... more

I love the Hotel Lumen. For the price and the location it can't be beat! Yes, som e of the rooms are small, but that shower can't be beat. I have stayed in large rooms and small rooms and yes, the big rooms are better, but I don't see signs of wear and tear? Normal usage... I like it a... more

I would not stay at this hotel again. I was in Dallas on business and looking for a hotel between the Galleria area and downtown. The location is good. But, the walls are paper thin. I could hear everything in the rooms next door to me- phone conversations, bathroom, etc.. You can hear every door shut even down the hall.... more

I was in the Dallas area on business and decided to stay near SMU because I like the Highland/University Park area of the city. I was impressed with the hotel website, and found a really cheap rate on an obscure website unrelated to the hotel, so it worked out pretty nicely. The website doesn't do the hotel justice. As you... more

I booked the Hotel Lumen because of its great location in the Park Cities area and because of its small, "boutique hotel" size. Overall, I have no major complaints about my stay. It is certainly very different from any hotel I have stayed at previously. The picture that you see at the top of the TripAdvisor page is exactly how... more

We went to the Hotel Lumen for business purposes and we were not all that impressed. Iron and ironing board are not in your room, as you must request them from the front desk. I received mine after my second night there and after I requested it twice. As another review stated, there is no full length mirror. I showered... more
