It would seem from reading some of the other recent reviews that we stayed at a different hotel to them! Hotel is situated right on the coast road ( fairly busy but not by UK standards) with great views of the St Clement beach etc. and the dramatic coastline. We found the staff very friendly - especially the owners! The... more

Shared a twin room with my mum for a summer treat to her. I was very disappointed with the lack of politeness from the owners, who basically never greet you, never mind speak to you. We had dinner on arrival, and were less than impressed with the food and the service! As ststed before, the vegetables are the same whatever... more

5 days was sufficient to see the majority of the Island of Jersey and if my wife missed a jewellers shop I apologise. It was also long enough at the Hotel, They tried hard but everything just missed. The room was clean but not faded grandeur, it was tired. I do not care for carpeted bathrooms, New carpet! The breakfast was... more

We booked a four night deal via Condor breaks (Pay for three nights get one free). Overall our stay was excellent. The hotel has just been taken over by the new owners, after apparently a six year wait! Dinner, which we paid for on a half board basis on booking, was first class. Though expect the same vegetables with whatever... more

The Shakespeare, we classed as comfortable but old and needing an odd job mans ( persons ) attention to the things that need sorting out. For instance, in our room the shower tap couldn’t be turned on or off by my wife’s hands so she had to call me for brute strength each time. There was also a problem of... more

We booked the hotel as part of a package through Condor Travel. The Shakespeare hotel was smart enough cosmetically, and the room was adequate with some exceptions. The most noticeable was the bathroom which seemed incapable of producing hot, rather than warm water. I reported this to reception but nothing was done about the problem. The other main problem was... more

Booked direct for a nice relaxing 5 days getting away from it all. The hotel has everything you would ever want for this type of break. It's decor is a bit dated, but everything is clean and the staff are extremely helpful. We book a delux sea-view room (see photo) which was on the 1st floor. It had a huge... more

We have just spent an excellent four days at the Shakespeare. We found no fault with any part of our stay. The food was superb as were the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend the Shakespeare to anyone going to Jersey for either a short or not so short break. more
