We chose this property for location and based on the many positive reviews in TA. We got a very good deal on Priceline, about 15% less than the hotel's own Web site for a 2-BR oceanview unit. Some things we liked, some things we didn't. The property is dated (I would guess it was built in the mid-to-late 80s), although... more

My daughter and I (girls' vacation) stayed at the Colony Beach Resort from July 26 to August 2 on the 20th floor, Room 2004 and we have only very nice things to say about our stay there. Our particular room was very clean and very nicely decorated. We didn't expect such a large area when we booked it. The kitchen... more

Choose any other resort other than the Beach Colony unless you are comfortable staying in a roach infested pigsty! We encountered two Palmetto bugs (fancy name for a cockroach) in our room. We also had lots and lots of small gnats flying about the room, especially the bathroom. Maintenance came to spray and the gnats seemed a bit more controlled.... more

Beach Colony was fun. we had a one room suite for 4 people. The layout was fine-alot like Beach Cove if you've ever been there. the location was really good-only 10 minutes to town. The major issue is parking with the one way ramps. The people at the front desk were not overly helpful as I've read. The view of... more

I have stayed at Beach Colony almost every year for the last 8 years. They have never let me down and certainly didn't this year. My family stayed from July 9-July 13 and we enjoyed all our usual favorite amenities. My daughters love their indoor and outdoor pools and as usual the pools were clean and well-maintained. They were a... more

After having a great stay in 2007, we returned this year. We weren't disappointed. The biggest lure for us was the amazing value for all the great and numerous ameneties that the resort offers. I have been going to MB all my life and I honestly don't think there is a better value. In addition, the service is great, super... more

The hotel itself is nice. However, there was a "Palmetto" bug crawling around in our bathroom. The front desk told us they were harmless and not considered a cockroach. Could've fooled me, it looked and moved just like a roach! After looking it up online they are "one of the largest species of cockroach". We placed the giant insect in... more

We just returned a few weeks ago from our stay at the Beach Colony Resort in Myrtle Beach, our trip down was not so great with the directions we received and we were all tired and as soon as we walked into our room it made everything worthwhile. The rooms were just beautiful and very clean. we also enjoyed having... more

This is our 5th time staying at the Beach Colony. We return b/c of the friendly staff and the family atmosphere. We stay in the 2 bedroom O/F Angle Suite and enjoy the large balcony. The full kitchen, dining area and living room make you feel like you are at home. The suite was always clean (Helen is wonderful!!!) and... more
