Some of these reviewers need to relax some. Yes, it’s not the newest, nor is it the cleanest place I've ever stayed. However, if you are looking for a real get-away and are willing to "live" with some things, it’s actually a very nice place to visit. It obviously has had some better days, and yes, the owners have that... more

I just came back from a stay at the Inn and boy do I wish I had looked at some reviews before I booked it. I would have gone elsewhere! The Inn is in desperate need of some updates and repairs. Peeling paint is the least of the problems. The room was very small with a very dirty and damp wall... more

More like the dump on the puddle. Very old, tired, not very clean inn on a puny lake. Tiny lakefront area. Did not eat at the restaurant. To be avoided. more

My wife and I just returned from a wonderful, relaxing 3 day get-away. We have traveled all over Europe, North and Central America. We enjoy anything from Bed and Breakfasts to luxurious hotels and condos. Our first time here, this lake-view retreat was so peaceful and relaxing. We alternated between enjoying the many activities and just relaxing and reading on... more

First impressions are often correct: When we arrived, we walked through the empty lobby, into the empty bar (where a man who failed to greet us was polishing bottles), and to the restaurant, where the harried waitress asked the bartender to please seat us. His perfectly serious response: “No.” So we sat ourselves. Turned out he was the owner. When... more

After our two night stay, I would not recommend this B&B to anyone. The staff was very unfriendly (especially the owners), and the wait staff was badly inexperienced and not very professional. My recommendation is to find someone who is customer friendly to greet guests on arrival and for the owners to stay in the background. The rooms were very... more

My family has been spending at least two weeks a year at Starlight since 1913 - I spent every summer there for many years and met my husband there and got engaged in the pool room. I can imagine that if one arrives expecting luxury, one would be disappointed but I am aghast and horrifed by the one very negative... more

My wife, 5 month old baby, and I were very pleased with our stay. No TV in the rooms, no cell phone service and no internet. It really gave us a chance to relax. Our food was great. I took a picture of he hot chocolate. The whipped topping was piled high and decorated with chocolate syrup. I had the... more

I mostly agree with other reviews posted here. My wife and I stayed at the Starlight recently during the fall foliage season, and were not disappointed. The hosts make an honest effort to offer good service... Unfortunately, they seemed a little overwhelmed during restaurant service. One of the waitresses was badly inexperienced, and her frustration with her work was visible... more
