This hotel has recently acquired new owners. It is a lovely hotel - we stayed there for a family weekend away so took 3 rooms. The rooms were lovely, with large showers, state of the art TVs and a cosy bed. The food was really fantastic and the service was superb - the manager popped over the road to get... more

Arrived at the Pear Tree Inn and had a walk around before checking in, lovely surroundings and very peaceful which is exactly what we were after. Just a couple of days away from the city in peace and quiet! First impressions were good, very helpful young lady greeted us and booked us in, told us all about dinner and breakfast... more

We stayed for one night at the Pear Tree, having eaten there on numerous occasions previously (I would agree with previous reviews that the service can be patchy though this time it was fine, possibly as it was very quiet). Our room was tiny, though nicely furnished. The bathroom was even smaller. The soundproofing between rooms is poor and one... more

Just back from a couple of days in rural Wiltshire. After a great lunch at the Bell at Ramsbury and a pleasant stroll around Marlborough, we were looking forward to the icing on the cake - staying at the Pear Tree Inn... .. but we left feeling disappointed! Don't get me wrong - the room was excellent, the pub is... more

Upon arrival at the Pear Tree, we were slightly dissappointed with the location as from the pictures on activehotels.com (i.e. one of a row of thatched cottages by a brook), we expected this to be where the Pear Tree was but the thatched cottages and brook were no-where to be seen, we even went for a drive and walk the... more

From the pot of tea by the fireside on arrival to the late checkout time on departure we had a great overnight stop. Most comfortable hotel beds we have had for ages. B & O TV, smart new bathrooms etc all within the framework of a very old inn. Restaurant was very good although the starters were the weakest of... more

We have just spent a weekend at the Pear Tree, and loved every minute. Fantastic breakfasts, delicious dinners, good walking out the door, wonderful rooms & the most friendly, helpful staff I have come across for ages. We thoroughly recommend it! (p.s. I promise we are genuine customers - this report is so glowing, you might be suspicious!) more

Having read rave reviews in various national newspapers, we decided to give the Pear Tree a try on our way back from a work trip down south. It was worth the visit. We stayed in a lovely comfy room in one of the outbuildings - very good soundproofing as well as great furnishings and TV/sound system. We know the soundproofing... more

This is probably one of the most lovely rooms I have ever stayed in. It has been furnished to a really high standard whilst retaining the character of the property. The bed was big, comfy with white linen. The bathroom had lots of Molton Brown goodies and was beautifully tiled in natural stone. Dinner was incredibly yummy and I agree... more

We stopped in at the Pear Tree without having a booking for dinner or a room, we had simply left home Friday morning with a list of a few places off the Alistair Sawday website. It wasn't just a pleasant surprise it was a wonderful shock! First the food is fantastic, they have a reputation and deserve it. Great wines... more
