Patzcuaro's Eco-Hotel is an environmentally friendly luxury hotel overlooking the famous Lake Patzcuaro. As the only hotel perched along the road up to El Estribo, one the highest points in the area, we offer great views of the entire region by day, and amazing star gazing by night. Tranquil and serene, you'll feel on top of the world, while staying just a 10 minute drive or a 20 minute walk to the Plaza Grande. more » « less

The grounds, rooms and view are spectacular! One thing I especially liked is the decor - ANYTHING but cookie cutter!! The staff is very friendly and accomodating. Rooms are supplied with luxury, organic spa products, a very nice touch. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope you enjoy as much as we did!! more

We have visited Mexico more than 25 times; mostly on West Coast (Puerto Vallarta y environs) & Cancun area. This geography by far surpasses all other in Mexico. We had planned to visit the charming town of Patzcuaro, & decided to stay at Eco-Hotel. Our communications w/Michelle Roos (manager) prior to and during our stay were flawless & exemplary. The... more

Patzcuaro is a magical place and this is the most magical spot from which to experience it. Just a short walk from downtown, the hotel is perched on the edge of a hill (the estribo grande) from which you can see fisherman on Lake Patzcuaro and the island of Janitizio sparkling in the night. Outside, campesinos drive their cows and... more

Lovely, new, eco-conscious hotel with a quiet location, amazing lake view, Mexican-craft inspired rooms, and attentive service. Breakfast delivered to our room by Gloria, with her smiling face. Gabi, the manager, attended to our every request. Jesus, our driver/guide, took us to master craftsmen in towns around Lake Patzcuaro where we saw demonstrations. Patzcuaro is a small, typical town, with... more

Outstanding personal service, attention to detail, incredible views, wonderful ambience and a true cultual experience we will never forget! Lots of superlatives, huh? I mean every word... My wife, brother and I spent 2 weeks at the Eco Hotel and were totally impressed with the location, the unique decor of each room, and most of all, with Michelle and Dave's... more

We had the pleasure of staying at the Eco-Hotel during Day of the Dead. Upon our arrival and weary from our travel we were greeted with ice cold beer, carundas (a yummy tamale-like dish), and a dance performance by local youth. It was fabulous! The Eco-Hotel provides you with the unique opportunity to interact with other interesting guests or enjoy... more

Absolutely loved the Eco-Hotel. The staff was gracious and friendly. Upon arriving, a sweet young man met my sister and I at the gate and eagerly carried our suitcases up the stairs to our room. The room was beautiful! I especially loved the shower which had a window in it, where I could view the lake while showering! Did I... more

Patzcuaro, Mexico I spent a lovely week at Patzcuaro's Eco-Hotel in February of 2007. It was my first trip to Mexico and I was awed by the spectacular view, the natural setting of the hotel and the attention to local values, crafts and the environment. The room I shared with a traveling companion was very spacious, clean and reflected the... more

My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon in Patzcuaro at the Eco Hotel. It's a unique place -- each room has its own style and all are charming. The hotel sits along a ridge overlooking the Janitzio Island in Lake Patzcuaro -- the sunsets were beautiful. Downtown is an easy ten minute walk down the hill (and if you don't... more

We stayed at Patzcuaro's Eco-Hotel for our honeymoon. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and full of beautiful Mexican decor. The service was prompt and thorough. Additionally, the staff went out of their way to help us plan adventures in the region, so we felt sure of our way and safe. And finally, the location of this establishment provides great... more
