A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I joined our friends in Syracuse for a Homecoming reunion. We all booked rooms at the Renaissance (which used to be the Marx) and were very excited about finally staying there. The rooms were cramped, they should never have tried to put 2 double beds into a room that size and the walls... more

This hotel is filthy. Elevator filled with trash and food. Carpet pieces missing from room floor. Vomit and food stains all over the door and walls under the room windows. We had booked a stay for 2 nights but left after one. It is surrounded by an area of boarded up buildings. A car in the parking lot had been... more

The elevators are the dominant feature of this 20(?) story hotel; there are just two of them for guests, slow, cantankerous, NOT computer controlled (they often go up and down together, both opening on every floor where someone has pushed the call button, rather than working together). It really degrades the whole stay experience, as you have to plan on... more

Stayed one night in August at this hotel, first time there. I thought all in all it was a nice place to stay. Staff was friendly, room was well appointed. Bathroom had no tub, shower only with kind of a cool rainfall effect. Had dinner in restaurant, service was excellent, food was great, nice ambience overall. Parking was free in... more

I have to start this review out by saying that this is the best hotel in Syracuse. Unfortunately, there is not a lot to chose from. I just got back from a short trip where I stayed with my 3 year old daughter. My first night I was there I arrived around 9pm and when I went to my car... more

Decided to stay at the Renaissance because it was quoted as being the only 4-star Marriott in the area - big mistake! From check-in until check out, nothing stood out as a 4 star hotel for me. I think the front desk staff were rude - I was waiting in line (actually I was the next in line) and the... more

We stayed at the Renaissance Syracuse Hotel for one night while on a roadtrip to NYC. We booked the hotel on Priceline for $55. The building looked a little worn and dated from the outside and the area looked a little shady. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw how modern the rooms were. The room was very clean and... more

Booked a room on the same day from priceline for $77. Very convenient to the mall (10 minute drive) and to the highway. Our room was on the 12th floor facing the university. Everything was good. The only disadvantage is the lack of a pool. more

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at the Renaissance Syracuse Hotel. Upon check-in, we were told that the hotel had just been remodeled. We had made a reservation for a room with a king size bed yet were given a room with two double beds. We had arrived late to the hotel and basically went right to sleep upon... more

We were heading to Syracuse for the Empire Brew & Music Fest (great festival for beer fans), and booked a room here for the internet price of $109 on their website. The hotel was conveniently located right off the highway, and within walking distance to Clinton Square, where the event was. A nice bonus was that they had a free... more
