We spent our honeymoon at the Sea Captain's House and it was absolutely lovely! Tony and his staff are incredibly hospitable and very helpful! We had a delicous breakfast each morning on our veranda overlooking the caldera - BEST view on the island! Also..make sure to eat at The Ambrosia & Nectar...we ate there 4 times and loved everything on... more

We were really looking forward to our stay at the 1864 Sea Captain's House and we did have a fantastic time, though I think some of the other reviews may have gone a little bit far in their praise. If this property sold itself as anything other than a top class, high priced retreat then I would certainly have given... more

Just returned from a week staying at 'Falling Stars', a small house run by Tony & team at the Sea Captain's House. Very simple and beautiful. Whitewashed interior with big, draped 4-poster and light flooding in from 2 sides (as well as lovely breezes). We did nothing all week but sit on the small terrace looking at the amazing view... more

We recently got married in and stayed at the Sea Captain’s House in Santorini. What an incredible experience! There were 12 of us so we booked the whole house and an affiliated property (Falling Stars) next door. My fiancée and I stayed in the Sailing Suite and in my opinion it is the one to get. The views from the... more

We have returned this week from Santorini and seven nights in Oia, staying at The Sea Captain's House. All previous comments about the magnificence of the view are accurate - the caldera and volcano, passing sea traffic and changing light, especially at the end of the day, are entertainment enough if you have planned a deliberately restful stay, as we... more

My husband and I stayed in the Sailing Suite for 3 wonderful days at the end of April. Ah, heaven it was. The temperature is perfect at that time of year......cooler in the morning, warm but not too hot in the afternoon. Also, the crowds of tourists coming to visit Oia from Fira and other parts of the island are... more

We stayed at the Sea Captain's house from 10-14 May 2007. May is a GREAT time to go to Santorini, before it gets really hot (we also understand that September/October is very good as well). The weather was perfect, 75 degrees and sunny every day with a light breeze. Our room and our balcony were lovely, the vaulted ceilings are... more

My wife and I stayed at the Sea Captain’s House in September 2006. We were really torn and often have difficulty choosing the best place (for us – and I’d think, for most discerning travelers). My wife and I aren’t extremely big spenders but do like a nice place to stay. We had read about the Sea Captain’s House in... more

I can't agree more with all the reviews that have been written about Sea Captain's House. The view from the balcony is phenomenal, probably the best we've seen (and we're fairly well-traveled). The rooms are unique, delightful and very comfortable. We stayed in the Sailing Suite which I think has the best balcony of the 3 rooms. Our breakfasts on... more
