We arrived and stayed in a shoreline room for $150/night. We entered the room, greeting by a mix of mildew and urine smell. When we pulled back the sheets of both beds there were at least 4 different types of hair scattered about leading me to believe these sheets hadn't been changed in a while. We called the front desk... more

There was a time when the Georgian Resort was the nicest place to stay on the strip at Lake George. The AAA Three Diamond rated motel complex still looks good, but it's clear that management isn't maintaining the property the way the last owners did. Rooms are reasonably well decorated with dark polished wood furnishings and a burgundy color scheme.... more

How can they call themselves a resort??? Nasty front desk personnel. No bellman to help bring bags to dusty , smelly, moldy 1950 's style rooms that have not been upgraded since that time.Telephone plugs pulled out of walls...Thus no phone the entire stay.1950  air conditioners humming vibrating whirring all night so not able to sleep .Bathtub spout coming out of... more

Thank you for your recent comments. Receiving positive feedback always make us feel that we have reached our objective of making every guests stay as pleasant as possible. As you mentioned in your review the word “Resort” can be misleading, which is very true when comparing Lake George to the Caribbean or the Gulf of Mexico. But as I mentioned...

Every year my family and friends come back to the Georgian. Ages range from 85 to 23 and everyone loves it. We book the penthouses and the bathrooms are elegant. The pool is wonderful and the cabana bar has great food and drinks. Waitresses bring drinks to your lounge at the pool or to your room. The breakfast buffet is... more

We booked our vacation after seeing pictures of the resort online. It looked like a beautiful place to stay. The vacation was extremelly disappointing from start to finish.Upon arrival at the hotel we were informed that the pool was out of service for the day due to an emergency repair. After driving five hours the kids were expecting to dive right into the... more

This place is way over priced and not at all what I was expecting. It is a motel. The courtyard view is the parking lot. they have plastic chairs in front of all of the rooms, including the 2nd floor. This encourages all of the people to sit outside their rooms and drink, while looking at the parking lot. They... more

In reading this review it is apparent that we have achieved some of our objectives. The definition of “resort” is a place to relax and recreate and that is the objective and reason for our name “The Georgian Resort”. The fact that this review mentions that the guests around them were feeling like they were at home means that we...

My wife and I stayed with my 3 girls 4th of July weekend. This was your typical Lake George motel, problem was, it cost $200 a night! Not worth it! Now Lake George must be taken in context, a great family vacation but you must be very careful what motel you book, some of them have not been updated since... more

If I would have known I was going to a Motel 6 then I would have expected a 1 star hotel but, I thought I was going to a resort so that's when the disappointment came in. The Georgian resort is sooooo out dated and dirty I even saw mice trap boxes in The Bistro and Bar. They need to... more

We are taking a much more proactive approach to reviews of our property and responding to reviews that we feel we can offer information or an explanation. In the case of this review our main concern was not being informed of these conditions when the guest checked in. We are inspected each year by AAA and given a clean bill...

I just finished reading the "nightmare" stay at the Georgian Resort in Lake George, NY and I thought I would send my comments as I too had the opportunity to attend a wedding recently at the Georgian and stayed overnight. I do live in the upstate NY area, but my husband and I did not want to worry about driving... more
