As far as budget motels go, this one was great. Although it's across the parking lot from a strip mall, we liked the fact that after cruising around downtown/Cornell area, we could park the car at the hotel and walk to a grocery store for snacks/beer. There's also a Pizza Hut and Friendly's that you can walk to, plus more... more

My wife and I stayed here for one night. The room was very cold when we checked in but warmed up quickly once the heating unit was turned on. Be advised that the heating unit and the AC are one and the same, so don't waste time looking for a wall thermostat. The room was quite small. The bed was... more

We stayed at Econo Lodge for 4 nights and had no major problems. This hotel was MUCH cheaper than most others in Ithaca, but it was perfectly adequate and very easy to locate at a major highway intersection. Although the immediate environment in the parking lot is uninspiring, it IS convenient (if you have a car) -- the Ithaca mall... more

I booked this Econo Lodge for a one night stay in Ithaca while visiting Cornell with my son. The best thing about the stay was that it was for only one night! I knew from other reviews that the exterior was not attractive. That's for sure. The hotel is located in a dark, dreary, out-dated strip mall -- which turns... more

I have stayed at many Ithaca hotels and although the Econo Lodge has many fine qualities. I have stayed at the Statler, the Marriott's Courtyard, the Hampton Inn, La Tourelle, the Hilton Garden and the Best Western. Excluding the Statler, among the remaining hotels, I have found that the Econo Lodge meets my needs the most. Pros: Quiet!! I can't... more

Had a reservation held, but the service agent who took my reservation told me the wrong cancellation time. I tried to cancel the reservation in the time I was told, and was then told that it was too late. So they charged me for a day that I never stayed there. I'm sure there was no confusion on my end.... more

I have had good luck in the past with the econolodge chain. Ithaca was the execption. It is located (although you cannot tell from the pictures online) in a strip mall parking lot. getting in and out was bad during busy times as there is only one way in and out of the "lot." Checking in was reasonably fast. Although... more

We stayed here because all the "finer" hotels were booked. The rooms are clean and pleasant. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms clean, but not fancy. None of that stuffy/musty smell that I have found at other inexpensive places. The staff was very friendly and professional - much higher quality service than I have had at some pricey places! Main drawback is... more

Decent hotel for the price. I agree the bed was hard. But the room was clean and the location was good. Mall is across the street if you need to kill some time. And the continental breakfast was good. When returning to Ithaca, I would stay again. more

Just came back from Cornell University and the Finger Lakes. It is near the colleges but the accomendations were basic at best. The hotel is situated in a parking lot, the beds are uncomfortable with sheets that are like sandpaper, but if $ is your main concern then go ahead. We also wanted to see the Finger Lakes, you should... more
