After reading several stories about The Alluvian and Viking's role in the town, my husband and I decided to make the drive down. We were a little nervous as we've never considered Mississippi a vacation place. I can say we were thrilled with our weekend in Greenwood. The Alluvian is a beautiful hotel. The bar and the lobby area are... more

If you're staying at this hotel, its almost guaranteed that you are either coming to the Viking Cooking School, are working for Viking, are interviewing with Viking, or are doing business with Viking. Greenwood, Mississippi sadly has nothing really to offer other than the fact that the headquarters for the fancy schmanzy Viking Range Corporation is headquartered here. Not only... more

This small boutique hotel is lavish and remarkably furnished. From the marble to the astoundingly comfortable beds, it's worth the trip just to stay in the room! more

A week ago, I spent one night at the Alluvian Hotel in Greenwood, MS. This is owned by the owner of Viking Stoves, etc. who grew up there. He has really made the town alive. He gutted an old hotel and made it into a 5 star boutique hotel. Everything is first class. There is a SPA which I did... more

I found the spa experience and the hotel accomodations to be above average. The staff was very friendly, although they did forget to put the champagne in our room to celebrate our wedding night. Nonetheless, overall we were impressed with the room design and cleanliness (very important to us). For the price, you won't find anything in the state of... more

Imagine a hip, trendy boutique hotel in New York City. Now imagine a small, sleepy, plain-folks town in the rural south. Then plunk the swanky hotel down in the southern town, and you begin to get the picture. Stepping into the lobby is a surreal experience. But I loved it! The room was swanky, with super-comfortable bed, a chaise-like chair... more

Our (large) family stayed in the Alluvian for a wedding and the property and service were exceptional. This is truly a gem in the Delta and the Southern hospitality was wonderful. more

My husband and I recently spent mother's day weekend at the Alluvian and couldn't have had a nicer time. As soon as we arrived, the staff went out of their way to accomodate our needs, even offering to take us to dinner at Lusco's in their "London Taxi." It's a real London Cab and you should let them shuttle you... more

This is a great hotel! We had a wonderful stay. The rooms are nice and big, with large bathrooms. The beds are SO comfortable! I though the price was very reasonable, the nightly rate would be much more if the hotel was in a larger city. Everything in this hotel is top of the line, you will not be disappointed!... more
