Thankfully we only had one night at Villa Mushara, as although it is the most exquisite villa, it is like a sweat box too, as the aircon unit is just not adequate enough for such a large space. We spent one night at Mushara Lodge on our way to the east of Etosha. It is very close to the park entrance which was the main advantage for us. We stayed in the private villas, and we were amazed at the stunning facilities. Watching the kudus and impalas drink from our own private water hole behind our villa was something we will never forget. My family stayed at Mushara Lodge for two nights in July 2007. On arrival we were ushered into the stunningly decorated reception/lounge and offered a cold drink and after a while escorted to our rooms, the hotel personnel hauling our bags on a large trolley. We stayed at Mushara for two nights whist visiting Etosha game park. The lodge is about 5 minutes from the east gate to the park and therefore in a very convenient location. Located just outside the Von Lindequist Gate on the east side of Etosha National Park, Mushara Lodge was the highlight of our trip to Namibia. Luxurious surroundings, wonderful and inobtrusive service, and great food. It's quite a treat, especially after staying in the government-owned lodging within the park. Most heartily recommended. more
