Stayed for 2 nights. It was a fine stay, no complaints. Try to get some type of discount, because $309 for waterfront view is a bit pricey. Hotel is nice, but not out of this world. One note... Our purpose of our trip was to go Whale Watching. Two phone calls were made to the hotel and each time they... more

Comfortable beds, updated clean and modern decor, quiet room (on the back of the hotel), great service (especially if you're there on business). The location is perfect - right across from the waterfront. We walked everywhere. And having the Standard Baking Company in the parking lot next door is an added plus - you don't have to walk far to... more

The good: location is great, staff were very friendly and helpful. The standard rooms are larger than most other hotels and included a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. Breakfast buffet was good, and the cookies at the front desk were excellent! The bad: worst mattress I have ever slept on in a hotel....very lumpy and soft. hotel ran out of... more

I just returned from a business trip with my husband. We travel to Portland for this client each summer, and have stayed at the Regency, and the Portland Harbor Hotel a few times. This time, I wanted to try the other nice hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn. To be fair, we are used to 4+ star hotels. But Portland only... more

I'd never stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn before and was quite impressed with this one. Modern decor, large room (we had a corner room at the end of the hall), comfortable bed, clean, big bathroom. And you can't beat the location. Don't necessarily agree with the rave review of Gilbert's chowder (across the street) but The Standard Baking Company... more

My husband and I (late 30's, early 40's) stayed for two nights at this hotel in July. The best thing about this hotel is the location. You just can't beat it. Close to the wharfs, shopping, dining, bars, etc. We did not get the car out of the valet lot for the time we were there. The hotel itself is... more

This hotel is right across from the ferry service. You can walk everywhere and the rooms are very nice. We had to valet our car, so we just walked everywhere. Our room faced the ferry terminal and was nice and clean. I've heard they have excellent cookies, but we weren't around to try them. The next morning we had a... more

Just came back from a stay at the HGI over Memorial Day Weekend. The location can't be beat, within walking distance to everything. Had a nice corner room, #318, on the third floor with a view of a parking garage and the bay. Room was nice, extremely confortable and spacious. Valet parking was $15 per day (no self- parking), and... more

We recently stayed at this hotel and loved the location. It is right across the street from the main ferry terminal and within close walking distance to virtually everything on the waterfront. We brought our two dogs and stayed on their "pet friendly" third floor. Here's a tip, don't bother getting a so called water view on the pet floor... more

We stayed at this hotel for 1 nite, arrived around 2:30 went directly to room, nice room 5th floor, waterivew overlooking Casco Bay, not sure if the view was worth the extra money, especially as we were only there for 1 nite and werent in the room much, really only to sleep. Nice touch, refridge. in room as well as... more
