We just got home from spending one night at the Seelbach and what a disappointment. We stayed there about 5 years ago and it was such a different experience-one that we had hoped to recapture since it was our wedding anniversary and we wanted a luxurious treat. Upon arrival, valet service was prompt although pricey. The gentleman at the desk... more

I've stayed in this hotel several times in the past several years and have noticed its steady decline. There are fewer employees; the rooms are increasingly in disrepair; and the quality of service has suffered. When my wife and I arrived at 11:30 pm on Friday, there was no one at the door, no one at the bell stand, and... more

The first warning was the shabby, dirty (formerly) red carpet on the stairs of the hotel's main entrance. It should have been replaced months ago. That was the introduction to what may be an historic hotel but is now an old, dingy one. Too bad, because the location is excellent across from the well-done Fourth Street Live. Didn't dine at... more

I have stayed on business at the Seelbach Hilton and it's always been an accommodating hotel. I never feel like I'm in a chain when I step into the Seelbach - it feels old-world and glamorous, but also offers all the modern conveniences of a Hilton. I used the complimentary airport shuttle, which was prompt at arriving, and it took... more

I am a regular visitor to Louisville, but one trip turned out to be a disaster! Once the hotel found out I was a gay male, they turned me down at the front desk by the front desk manager...who was told by the GM of the hotel, all though my room had been booked, but let my bestfriend stay if... more

Grand Hotel - old charm. Room was small, but bed was comfortable and room was clean. Valet parking was nice and quick. View from room was poor - ask for a city view. Fourth Street Live one block away - great entertainment and food. Old Seelbach Bar was neat to visit for a drink. more

I've stayed here once before and wrote a great review for it here. Things haven't changed and my review of this hotel is still glowing. This time we did end up with a smaller hotel room. This room was very small. It was just me and my husband for one night so we didn't mind so much. We stayed here... more

The hotel is in a great location if you are going to be downtown. It is directly beside 4th Street Live entertainment complex, and within walking distance to the river front, as well as most anything else downtown. The restaurants are fabulous (have eaten there previously-not this time) but expensive, however you are within walking distance of a dozen other... more

The Seelbach is fine for a place to stay. However, it is definitely not the nicest hotel you'll encounter, nor the most luxurious. Its history and charm are undeniable. The location is exceptionally convenient if you've got things to do and people to see in downtown Louisville. We stayed here for a wedding and were satisfied with the accommodations. The... more

This hotel was so disappointing. It must of been a very upscale hotel at some point but not today. Lots and lots of problems. We are Diamond members and we were not treated as such. They gave us a room that was already occupied by someone else. Then acted like it was our fault that the room wasn't okay!! So... more
