Marion County should be the "Natural Spring Capital of the World." Being on a tight budget, I decided to take my family on an in-state vacation. We choose to visit Ocala, Florida because it is the home to many numerous fresh water springs and natural walking trails that a have very nominal admission fees. After searching on Expedia, we deciding... more

My recent visit to Ocala for the Thoroughbred horse sales brought me once again to this hotel. I've stayed here about 10 different times in the past 3 years, and am still amazed at the cleanliness and friendliness I've experienced here. We belong to a very exclusive private beach/golf/country club in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (did I mention expensive?), and... more

We stayed at Howard Johnson, Ocala, on May 11 for a night on our way to Orlando. As I am extra sensitive to odors, bugs and dirt (due to my ill health), I was very inquisitive to see how the room was. I was pleasantly surprised--for $39.99+tax, I had found a bargain. The room was very clean, nice clean sheets,... more

I found this hotel on my way down from Indiana. I'm not familiar with Ocala so I really didn't want to stray too far from the interstate and Howard Johnson was right off the interstate, and they had a restraurant . The staff was great, I wanted a smoking room but all they had was non smoking so they offered... more

I stayed for about a week in December, 2006. Paid a high price and was put in the worker's section. Trucks coming and going all night long - 6 AM Mexican workers on balconies making noise and moving vehicles. In the morning, a truck would go by and pick up the large volume of debris the maids cleaned from the... more

We just got back from a weekend visiting the Butterfly Rainforest/Natural History Museum in Gainesville and Silver Springs in Ocala. The hotel is an average hotel. In the evening we decided to go for a swim, but the pool was overrun with kids. After getting in, we immediately got out because there were alive black bugs all over the top... more

After reviewing the other postings, I was a little nervous! What a crock they were. The staff and management were VERY friendly and very helpful with all aspects of our needs. The breakfast was great, so good we even stayed there for dinner, and NO it wasn't over priced,it was right on target. The pool was very relaxing, not noisy.... more

First, the staff could careless about the consumer/customer -- all they cared about was riping you off. When i called to make a reservation they said they were not taking reservations and were baing it on first come first serve even though i offered my credit card number -- they said no. After arriving there, I got a room was... more

I stayed at this hotel a couple of weeks ago and was very disappointed. The rooms were dirty and the beds were not comfortable. I stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and thought it was a good value. It has really gone downhill since then. It's definitely worth spending more money to stay at another place if... more
