We have been going to the Sandpiper Inn for the last few years. It is one of the best, cleanest and the most comfortable places. Both Richard and Mary Lou are polite and extremely courteous. For all of our countless stays at the Sandpiper Inn at different times of the year, we have never had a bad stay. If one... more

July 18th thru 20th, 2008 Bill & Allison - Phoenix, AZ This was my first trip to Florida. We spent three days at this wonderful little paradise. The Managers (Mary Lou & Richard) were the best, did not have a problem with day to day notice, supplied lots of information on local activities & were the nicest people. The one... more

We loved this place... I can not believe anyone would write a negatitive review!! The grounds are beautiful... The rooms are clean, and the managers are very nice...We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit, and found it comfortable for all 6 of us. The pool is small, they even say that on the website, but who goes to the beach... more

In all honesty, this is probably the worst hotel (although more like a trailor) in my experience. The management is terrible to say the least. As unfriendly as they come. They are not "pet friendly" and even worse not "people friendly." Beach was beautiful but not worth the hassle you will get from the management. They DO NOT let you... more

I stayed at The Sandpiper Inn for a week with my daughter and granddaughter in June and we all agree it was a blissful week indeed. It is just what we wanted~a peaceful beach vacation to rejuvenate our spirits and spend "girl time". The grounds are absolutely lovely~thick, lush and tropical. There are fun things to do in the immediate... more

When I was searching for a place to stay on Long Boat Key, I was looking for intimate, non-commercial, oceanside accomidations. The Sandpiper Inn looked perfect to me on the internet for what I was looking for. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience at the Sandpiper Inn. The owners were so welcoming and accomidating. We stayed in one... more

We just returned from a July 4 longweek at the beach at the Sandpiper Inn. This is our favorite place to stay on the Gulf of Mexico and is the only beach and location my husband and I will even consider. The white sandy beaches are beautiful and you can find loads of sand dollars and shells. The tropical landscape... more

Don't believe the negative feedback....there's two sides to every story. We stayed at the Sandpiper Inn on the 4th of July weekend and had a wonderful stay, as always. The individuals that complained did not follow the rules. We understand they had non registered guests, took up more parking spaces than allowed, and brought non registered pets! I'm glad that... more

I would adamantly discourage anyone from staying at the Sandpiper Inn in Longboat Key, Florida. A beautiful beach and a quaint enough place, this resort is managed by two individuals who, regularly violate all hospitality principles ever created. They are rude and inconsiderate to the guests, virtually making you feel as an intruder rather than a paying guest. The second... more

Management response from
LongboatSandpiper, Manager

The “policies” of the Sandpiper Inn are very prominently displayed on our website & also on the written confirmation sent to each guest. If a guest chooses not to read or abide by these policies, they will be explained to them in person. The Pet Policies are also listed on the website & also verbally explained when reservations are taken....

We looked forward to a nice get away, unfortunately we were very disappointed. The location was beautiful, however, the staff was unprofessional. We were quickly told we would not receive clean sheets all week, getting a trash bag was a big deal and having guests to visit for lunch or a swim was a complete like asking for it to... more
