We had the opportunity to stay at this facility because it had everything we were looking for in the Keys. It was convenient having the boat ramp on premises and parking for our trailer. The rooms were average, but having a full kitchen fully stocked with utensils flatware, silvcerware, and glassware was exceptional. Publix and Winn Dixie are about 2 blocks... more

Decide if this is the hotel for you based on your expectations. If you like to fish and want a place that doesn't sway to sleep and like to save some money by fixing your own meals, then this is the place. It is right on a canal. I think they can provide you with a place to dock your... more

This was one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in and it was NOT cheap. The metal closet doors in the living room and bedroom were extremely rusted. The laminate was falling off the furniture. The smell was damp/moldy. They charged for pool towels (even though we did not use the pool). I would not stay there again... more

After reading all of the bad reviews of The Sombrero, I was a little worried. We stayed for three nights in March 2008 and had a nice time. The kitchen was very handy and the room was clean enough. They didn't steal our money and we didn't have bed bugs. The pool is nice and the Tiki bar. Latitude, was... more

The Sombrero's beds have bed bugs! You should avoid this place unless you like to be itchy all over. Their rooms are somewhat tidy, but their sofas and beds are filthy. It was nice to have a kitchen with a few dishes provided and the staff was friendly enough, but waking up itchy isn't worth the dishes. There is a... more

This hotel was very reasonably priced and we found it very good value for money, the rooms were clean and comfortable with adequate ammenities, the staff were very helpful, there is a swimming pool with a pool bar serving drinks and snacks, they supply towels for the pool and beach, The beach is about 5 mins drive away, well worth... more

The Sombrero Cay Club is a place to avoid. In the middle of nowhere, with rude staff and seriously inadequate facilities you should avoid it at all costs! It is NOT part of the Cay Club Resort group as advertised and is in a legal dispute with them. Avoid at all costs! more

This was our first visit to the Keys. Sombrero Beach Resort advertised a dive shop, restaurant, salon, spa - none of these were available as they were closed. The pool was nice. The rooms need some serious maintenance, the carpets are really worn and filfthy. Our kitchen stove would not turn on at all until my husband removed the knobs... more

We stayed here for one night while we were driving down to Key West because it looked nice and was a good price according to the website. Well, the pictures on the website are very decieving. The room smelled of stale cigarrette smoke and mildew and the pull out couch was the worst I have ever slept on. Everything in... more
