The Good: Clean, larger rooms in the main (historic) part of the house are nice. The Bad: The Inn has tried to capitalize on high demand during high season by expanding the historic part of the house with cheap, very small add-on rooms. It was ok for the money: everything was clean, the location is pretty good and our room had a nice little veranda. It needed it though because the room was small to say the least: when you weren't banging your knees getting out of bed you were being wedged between the vanity mirror and the toilet trying to turn around... more

We stayed at the Chelsea House on our honeymoon. They upgraded us to a larger room at no charge which was much appreciated as the initial room we booked was very small. This Hotel has character, romance & location. Our room was beautiful, large with a king size bed. We booked Chelsea House for our 25th wedding anniversary planning on having a romantic 3 nights. We were lured by the promise of a restored historic home with modern amenities. We visited Chelsea House in April 07 and loved the place. If your idea of a hotel is posh 'uber' boutique or you have asperations of living in the Ritz then this may not be for you.
