Yes Meek's Bay Resort is old and there isn't a TV or phone but the unbelieveable beauty, peace and quite are a little bit of heaven on earth. It's no wonder the Washoe people consider Lake Tahoe the center of the universe. The staff were friendly and helpful, it's a good idea to take snacks as the "coffee shop" is... more

Every summer for the past four years, three generations of my family along with three generations of three other families spend one glorious week at Meeks Bay. Sure, the cabins are old (although each summer something gets improved) and there are no "amenities" -- beside the reason we are there - Lake Tahoe and the beach. The white sand beach... more

We have been going to Tahoe for over 25 years and have stayed at every possible location on the lake, including Richardson, Zephyr, Incline, Kings & Meeks. Even though we have traveled extensively around the world & Sierras (Yosemite, Mono, etc), we happen to believe that Tahoe is one of the most beautiful places on earth, and Meeks is the... more

I used to stay at Meeks Bay Resort for a week every summer, but hadn't been for several years. Yes the prices are rediculously high, but you're right on the water at a beautiful small bay, with a fantastic beach. Sure, pay a little less for accomodations without a view across the street from Highway 89, but I love being... more

I have spent many years vacationing at Meeks Bay Resort. From the 1960's to present. There has been many changes to the place. There used to be more cabins, a minature golf in walking distance, a movie theater, horseback riding, a peer to walk out on, a flat plank to swim out to, a beach that was hand raked each... more

True, the accomodations are old, outdated and no amenities whatsoever. I believe it is very expensive for the quality of cabin you get. However, the accomodations are located at the best location with the best beach in all of Lake Tahoe. You are paying for the view, the beach and water right out side your door, and the peace and... more

We attended a wedding at Meeks Bay. It is a beautiful location, but the accomodations were horrible. It was not clean!! It was missing the amenities that you would expect - a telephone or tv. The filthiness of the bathroom was enhanced by the hot water heater in the corner, the sink that was not even large enough to set... more

We rented the Kehlet "mansion" in 2002 and vowed never to do it again. The place was not ready when we arrived. There had been a wedding there over the weekend and they were still raking out the house when we arrived after our check in time. I ended up cleaning the kitchen after it was cleaned by the Meeks... more

I was part of a wedding party at Meek's Bay Resort in July 2004. Never have I experienced such horrendously overpriced accommodations. I have no problems staying in dumpier places if I am paying "dumpy" prices. In July and August their studios run $200/night and 1BRs are $375/night. (Their prices are more reasonable in other months.) They "upgraded" us from... more
