We have stayed here twice (once in 1998 and once in 2001) and will return. Gary and Lori are simply exceptional. They are very very welcoming and accomodating, as well as helpful with dinner reservations as well as ski recommendations. The house is spectacular, with a huge woodburning fireplace. Absolute quintessential Tahoe wintertime B&B. Stayed here in January+March 2007 and fell in love with this place. This places oozes character and Gary/Lori are so welcoming, you feel you are staying with family you actually like. Cute stone house right on the lake with a great common area that has high ceilings and a grand stone fireplace w/roaring fire. great... more

This little gem of a place we booked fairly last minute, but were lucky to do so as a lot of their guests unsurprisingly keep coming back and book well in advance. It's a beautiful stone house on the shores of lake tahoe with their own pier which guests are welcome to use and they even provide big fluffy towels... more

I highly recommend a stay at the Chaney House on your next visit to Lake Tahoe. The stone house is stunning and the rooms lovely. The innkeepers are very warm & friendly and sunning on their private dock is a must if you are visiting before the snows come. more
