Well this motel certainly isn't the "Red Lion" but it sufficed. The beds were most definitely the most comfy we’ve ever had and the pool was the biggest and deepest. The A/C is perfect and it’s nice and quiet. The management are the sweetest ladies you’ll meet, but don’t be fooled they can be stern when it comes to money.... more

I was there in Redding, CA on a major television network shoot and stayed at the River Inn. The staff does go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. Pam, thanks again for all your help that crazy weekend. You're still my hero!!! more

Made reservations over the phone with a very nice lady, Joyce I believe she went out of her way to make sure that I was taken care of. After checking into my room I thought to myself should I leave now, or not. Which by the next morning I felt I should have went by my first thought and not... more

It was the 4th of JUly, 110 degrees, The airconditioner went out in all the rooms. They were rude and offered no solution or help besides open the sliding glass door. They did not care for my baby and family at all. They did not offer a cheaper rate or anything. We paid about $120.00 for 1 day and myself... more

I've been coming here since 1999. Only once did we regret our stay. It's always best to contact the hotel, and spend a little bit of time, explaining your concerns. The River Inn was JUST placed under new management. I spoke with the old owner and explained my concerns about the old smells (carpet). I was placed in a great... more

If you are looking for a sterile cookie-cutter bige hotel then do NOT stay here. This place is old and a little worn but it has character. The room was clean, it had access to the outside and it was quiet. Also it is right on the river, but I5 is on the other side so stay in a room... more

we booked this place after looking at websites . It seemed ok online. But when we got there, the halls leading into rooms looked as if they had never been vacuumed or painted. There was trash sitting in hallways. I started to panic, but thought it would be ok once in room. Wrong! The walls we dirty, it smelled of... more

Lobby/check-in area exactly the opposite of what your room will look like. The room I booked was described as "rack standard room with 1 queen bed, decorated in western style with wet bar, refrigerator, coffee." Was first given a room that had furniture piled on top of bed, plastic bags all over the bathroom. Apparently they had just cleaned the... more

We were told the River Inn is the "nice place" to stay in Redding by a local waitress at a nice cafe. To add to the Richmond, Ca member review - the spiders are alive and well!! First - the rooms abut a swamp (inlet of Sacramento River) - it's dirty, gross and depressing to look at. We stayed in... more

The place is a little worn down and like many places of this vintage could do with a little facelift. As I was leaving the first morning I asked the maid to get rid of the many spider webs that I hadn't seen the night I checked in. When they were still there I talked to the night manager who... more
