The Fairmont is a luxury hotel plunked in the midst of a business park. Since it lacks the location appeal of hotels closer to beaches and other Southern California attractions, it tends to empty out on weekends. Translation: You can find some GREAT deals through Hotels.com and many other Internet resources! I just finished my second stay here, and it... more
My husband and I rotate years of planning our anniversary getaway. In an attempt to match his weekend at the Ritz Carlton in Pasadena from the previous year, I booked a room at the Fairmont. There was a special at the time and I was looking forward to a great weekend. Driving up to the property, you feel like you're... more
On the Sunday of Labor Day weekend my wife and I decided we would escape the heat of the San Fernando Valley for a Newport Beach getaway. After surfing the web we found rooms available at the Fairmont Newport Beach Hotel and booked a one night reservation. This is where the mistake began. By way of my experiences, I travel... more
In Los Angeles on business, but most of my appointments were in the Newport Beach area. After some inquiries, the Fairmont was recommended. All said and done, I thought the hotel was very nice. Service is great from the front desk to the conceirge, to the hotel bar/restaraunt. Upon checking in, a service member noticed the long line (3 deep)... more
Currently staying in a one bedroom suite at the Fairmont Newport Beach. Wanted to let folks know that their pool is closed, given the frontdesk of the hotel won't inform you upon checkin and most of the staff don't seem to know it's closed, given the bellman gave me directions to the pool. Said to be closed until further notice...at... more
Just stayed over a long weekend at the end of July. Was able to book an executive club room for $200 a night when other upper tier hotels in the area were charging $27 and up for a regular room. Joined the Fairmont Club on website before booking, which was a great idea. Upon arrival valet had my room keys... more
Excellent stay. No big complaints. Great service, as one would expect. Room good, although A/C seemed a little too humid (usually a/c takes out humidity, but my room (902) did not really do that well). Cannot hear the airport, amazing. Valet parking (only thing avaialble) too expensive... $26 day. Food in restaurant VERYVERY good, but not cheap. All in all,... more
My wife and I stayed for one night on our drive up the coast. The staff were great... excellent service. We had the concierge go out of their way to recommend a great place to have dinner and arranged a reservation. The rooms are modern and clean. The hotel is located away from the water (say about 10 min drive).... more
My partner and I visit family every summer in Newport Beach, and we've stayed at everything from a Courtyard by Marriott to The Island (the former Four Seasons). This year, I found a good deal (around $225 for a king suite) at the Fairmont, so we figured we'd try it. At first glance, the hotel seems like a standard Fairmont--clearly... more
