This was almost the end of our tour. This hotel was so lovely. The outside lifts were fascinating. The sheer enormity of the hotel is amazing I did venture up to the 35th floor. It was fascinating the inner rim of the bar rotates slowly. Who could resist those beds! more

I was ambivalent about booking my stay in L.A. at the Westin Bonaventure after reading the mixed reviews here. I went ahead anyway, given that it had the Westin trademark on it. I wish I had trusted my gut and gone elsewhere. This is by far the lowest quality Westin I have ever stayed in. Oh, you *will* see the... more

On arriving, I have to say I was astonished to find out this was a four star rated hotel. With the exception of the centre bar area, it is without doubt the most unattractive hotel interior I've ever seen. The design looks like inside of a mother ship - you'll know what I mean when you see it. The staff... more

$42.00 for parking a day! This hotel was dirty upon arrival! My feet got so black by walking on the carpet I had to wear slippers the whole time I was in my room. We stayed with another couple for 3 days. The rooms were dark and small, the once nice thing was the shower (that was it). The bed... more

Hollywood loves a good period piece...and Hollywood seems to love the Westin Bonaventure because a ton of films have used the Bonaventure as a backdrop. The Westin is quite proud of their fame. The question for the modern traveler...Does the fame live up to the Westin experience? The first question from many is...WHY would you stay in DOWNTOWN LA?? Downtown... more

It is very hard to properly review this hotel. Paradoxally, the hotel is quite bad (certainly unworthy the Westin logo) but still very much worth staying at. It's all about the hotel's potential. Usually, you need a historic building for a hotel to be really special. Contemporary business hotels without cultural references are rarely charming. This one however is. The... more

Stayed here for business. Would never book here for leisure. Never with children. Service was good, but this hotel needs a major upgrade. Definetly not a 5 star hotel. Avoid the restaurants in the hotel. Pricey and not very good. The best is the breakfast buffet, but is expensive at $25 per person. Several "greasy spoon" restaurants located on the... more

We got a great rate for our two day stay over Labor day weekend through Hotwire -- Under one hundred a night, which was worth it. Check in was a breeze. We called to request a room on the higher floor and the hotel was very acomodating with our request. Our rooms overlooked the Hollywood hills and you could make... more

We stayed at the Westin Bonaventure for one night and were delighted with the hotel. The hotel lobby and multi-story atrium were dated and reminded us of a hospital, but it was still neat to behold. We were able to check-in early at 11:45 a.m. There were quite a few people in line at the front desk, but only one... more

the only good thing about this hotel if you're a die-hard movie buff is that they shot a lot of films in this hotel (arnold in true lies, etc.) but when was the last time this hotel was actually reviewed & rated as a 4* hotel - in the 90s? think those guys need to come back for an update.... more
