Clearlake is a challenging town to find a place to stay in the summer and this place came as a recommendation. All I can say is this is a place to avoid. The hotel is ok. Room was ok, staff great. However, they billed me for 2 nights when I only stayed one (reservation was screwed up as well). It's been over 10 days, and despite repeated promises from the hotel, my cc has still not been credited for the second night's stay. Stay here again? Not a chance. BTW, other reviews... more

I have stayed in this hotel alot for work. I have also stayed at the Travelodge down the street and at other places around. The qualification for this review is that the BW El Grande is pretty much the ONLY choice in Clearlake. Stayed there a couple of weeks ago. No parking out front due to six other cars parked in the yellow zone. I was presently suprised with this location. The rooms must of been recently rentovated, as they were nice, spacious, and newer funiture. The room was very clean, and housekeeping was quick to respond, for extra towels, and a roll a way bed. I even checked out the pool, and hot tub area. Not bad for a Best Western, I thought.... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel to get away for a few days! Unfortunately, the shower never got hot and there were ants in the bathroom. The place was nice though! more
