The hotel had the friendliest front desk staff that I have ever seen. Not only always smiling and greeting you so friendly , they have great suggestions on restaurants and other ideas how to spend your time in San Diego. The trolley is next door and very convenient to get downtown and old town. Room was was clean and had... more

Stayed two nights in mid-March. Hotel is conveniently located just off I-5, however it is rather noisy due to the San Diego Trolley which is right next to it. The trains run all night and make substantial noise. The rook was OK, it was spacious and clean, as the hotel buildings only accommodate one row of rooms there is a... more

Our company had business out of town in Chula Vista and had to send 3 employess there to stay. We chose the BW because of the proximity to our job and because of the room size (could accomodate 3 in a one room suite) for a little more than the price of one room elsewhere. We worked in Chula Vista... more

Room was clean, but most of the outlets and lights were connected to the bathroom GFI, which constantly tripped off. This caused the refridgerator to be turned off as much as it was on. This wasn't a case of having problems just when running the hair dryer. Often, I'd have to reset the GFI after returning back to the room... more

For San Diego visitors (esp to the annual Comic Con), the BW-South Bay offers affordability and great proximity to the Blue Line trolley stop and local eating joints, including Aunt Emma's which features excellent breakfast specials. The hotel's staff is also very nice and helpful, but do not expect much in the way of perks. The AC is iffy, and... more

This hotel was great. The bathroom left a little to be desired but for a one or two night stay it was great. Also, get to breakfast early because there was not much left during the last half an hour. Cable TV selections were great and room came with DVD player, micro, and refridge along with coffee maker, hair dryer... more

Travelers staying here in the summer should be warned that the air conditioning in the rooms leaves much to be desired. The "window shakers" are positively ancient, they are in poor repair, and the coils are caked with dust. If the weather gets hot, or if you prefer a frosty room, you are going to be disappointed. Other than that,... more

The Best Western South Bay Inn is a great little hotel (76 rooms) located directly next to the Bayfront/E Street trolley station. Being that it is so close to the trolley, staying here eliminates the need for a rental car. Rooms are average size and very clean. My room came with a 26 inch TV, refrigerator, and microwave and coffee... more
