Arrived late and the front deskperson went out of their way to get us a crib. The room is a bit small, but clean and comfortable. Free internet and a decent complimentary breakfast. We stopped here on the way to Las Vegas from San Francisco, and we were satisfied with our stay. Nothing fancy, but it was clean and good... more

Found this hotel in a Visit San Francisco magazine and stayed a night after visiting Sequoia NP. For the price it was fine, I had the best night's sleep yet of my week on the road. The rooms are a little tired but perfectly functional, the swimming pool is great and the breakfast was pretty good. Plenty of oilworers around... more

My work has taken me to Bakersfield about once a month for the past several years, and I have stayed at nearly all the moderate- priced motels in town, all of which are disappointing. Guests tend to be oil field workers and the like, who like to shout at each other outside my door at 530 am. La Quinta seems... more

Stayed at La Quinta Bakersfield enroute for the 'USA Road Trip 2008' that I was doing with friends which started at Las Vegas and was to finish back in Las Vegas two weeks later. On booking the many hotels during our 'Road Trip', the La Quinta chain of Hotels/Motels seemed popular and are very reasonably priced. Hence why we chose... more

The La Quinta in Bakersfield is the worst place I have ever stayed. The service was poor and almost non-existent; the rooms were small and cramped; the bathroom required that you step into the bath tub in order to close the door because the toilet was in the way. There were 4 of us in one room and they made... more

Sometimes stopover motels get overlooked for a review. This was a great place for the price. Very clean and nice breakfast. The staff was also very nice. Definitely a good recommendation. The location is in a motel business park so GPS and Mapquest may get you confused. Convenient to the freeways. more

we were on our way to san diego from yosemite and stayed here for 1 night on the way. there was only 1 guy running the place at 9 in the evening, so he had to shutdown the front desk in order to bring up a crib for us. he was friendly though, and the room was clean and we... more

My non-smoking room smelled very strongly of smoke, the carpet wasn't very clean, the sink in the bathroom drained very slowly. Many homeless types on the motel grounds. The continental breakfast was mediocre at best. I have stayed at other La Quinta motels throughout California and have always been satisfied. I think this one needs to make improvements. more

Stayed for 1 night July 24th 2006, and it was OK. Rom clean but ac was either too cold or too hot. Ok for 1 night or 2, no special amenities. Free continental breakfast was OK but needed more variety. more

Its hard to believe that we were given a room with absolutely no A/C during the Memorial Holiday weekend. It was a smoking room and we really needed the air circulation. We asked for compensation but received none. We slept with the windows opened which was unsafe because our room was directly across from the stairs. The only relief we... more
