I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Arcos in Cabarete. Before going to the Arcos, I had spent a horrible week in Santo Domingo where the electricity regularly goes out every Monday, Wednesday and Friday till 7pm. That's right, no airconditioning at a time when it was 93 degrees and the humidity was 87%. When my cab pulled up... more
Being a native Dominican, I for one am extremely glad to finally see something in the Dominican Republic that recognizes the existence of gays; in addition to the right to stay at a place that accepts us-OPENLY...It was extremely clean, the staff was very courteous, and the food was delicious...Byron, the owner is very cool, attentive and professional, as is... more
Me and my partner of 14 years decided to go back to the Dominican Republic, this time we wanted to explore the north coast, we did some searches on gay site, and found the site of Hotel Arcos, we found it a bit pricey , but compared with US standards we hoped to treat ourselves. What a Disappointment, not only... more

Hotel Arcos is not as the website or brochure makes it look. We payed up front for 7 nights 'all inclusive' but was forced to move to another hotel after 1 night because we were so disapointed. The bedroom was dirty & smelly, the all inclusive food & drink was almost non-existent. There was only 4 other guests who were... more
We paid in advance 9 nights i"all inclusive" n this hiotel When we arrived there we found out that the reality was very different from the internet web site: leak in our bathroom, a deseted hotel (only 4 customers including the 2 of us), not respect of time table (we could not have a dinner because there was no body... more
I just got back from a 10 day vacation in Cabarete DR. I spent the first two nights of my vacation at Hotel Arcos since the rest of my friends weren't arriving in DR until later. I flew in to Santiago Airport in the AM. Usually you would be screwed trying to check-in somewhere so early but Hotel Arcos was... more
I just got back from spending a fantastic weekend in Cabarete where I stayed at Hotel Arcos. It is a gay hotel for gay men only. It is across the road from La Hacienda, which is a gay disco bar. It is low season. We were going to go into the centre of Cabarete, but we went to La Hacienda... more
Hotel Arcos is a 20 roomed gay owned and staffed hotel in Cabarete. It is exclusively for gay men. The hotel runs an All-Inclusive format. I have stayed in All-Inclusive hotels before, but I don't really like the concept. The restaurants in these places are like canteens. The really great thing about Hotel Arcos is their restaurant. It is waiter... more
