This is the second vivat property we've stayed in and it was just as perfect as the first. Although the paint on the stairs is a little 'tired and bashed' in places it is an excellent place to stay. The views are awesome and the fire really helped keep the place warm in the evening. The only word of caution... more

We chose Church Brow Cottage for a three night honeymoon in early December 05 - it was a wonderful place to be, unique, historical and beautifully furnished. The Vivat Trust has done an excellent job in renovating the property whilst retaining it's special character. This tiny cottage is one of the most delightful places I have ever stayed. Kirkby Lonsdale is a great little town, with excellent shops, and there are excellent walks all around, ranging from riverside strolls to lengthy tramps over the hills of the Yorkshire Dales and the Howgills. more
